My wife and I both like house of gold. Great harmonies and Mark Lowery’s comic expressions. It’s part of the Gaithersburg series. I own plenty of their videos. We watch the video at least once a week and followed by ( until I found the lord..featuring Michael English). Great harmonies and a good time.

I would love to hear your reaction to David Phelps song No More Night. He’s a classically trained gospel singer. Oh my goodness, he has a God given gift to touch people through his beautiful voice. He sings with such passion and you can tell he lives what he sings. My son introduced me to David Phelps a couple of years ago at Christmas time, when I told him I loved Josh Groban’s version of O Holy Night. He said, Josh is definitely very talented but you haven’t heard anything like David Phelps singing it. He played David Phelps singing O Holy Night on KZbin. I was stunned, to say the least! They are unified in the Lord and it comes out in their music. How people worship comes from their love language. I learned this from the book called the five love languages. My husband worshipped quietly but me I love to worship raising my hands. When I readhis love language it said he would be a quite worshipper. My church is missed in all races and nationalities and each one worships different. Some quiet some with strong emotions but I love the fact that we worship TOGETHER IN ONE UNDER our Lord Jesus Christ. Love what you do and keep doing it.

That’s Guy Penrod (long hair) 🥰‼️ The older guy on his left is Bill Gaither. The guy on the other end is David Phelps. Forgot the other guy’s name. The Gaither Vocal Band has been a combination of different singers at different times, but they’ve all been great. Check out the singing and comedy of Bill Gaither and Mark Lowery. The are a funny pair. Mark is the funny one, while Bill is the straight guy. I have never laughed so hard as when I’ve watched those two together. Sometimes with others as well.

The funny thing about the Christian genre, though, unlike rap and pop, is that they're still making good music. That's why I mentioned those guys. On an uplifting note, I just had a friend I hadn't spoken to for a few get Saved. It was odd. I got a random 'what's up' kinda text out of the blue, and we started talking. We didn't usually talk about this kind of thing, because some early tradegies and other nonsense happened to them turning them off to the entire thing. One thing led to another, and the subject got breached and I was informed they were hosting a Bible study now and got Saved. I was like whaaaaatO.O It was good times, for sure.

My fave Gaither Homecoming DVD and CD is God Bless America, my dear. I have a lot of the DVDs and Cds of the Homecoming and Gaither Vocal Band. There have been different members. David Phelps, not in this version, had the huge gospel voice that soared. He has solo CDs. For awhile, they had Mark Lowry, who was not the greatest singer, but he could blend and told jokes and made great faces. Bill Gaither brought him into the group for laughs. The main one singing this song is Guy Penrod. This is my all time fave on the Homecoming show kzbin.info/www/bejne/laqvmKealNCertk Sandi Patty wrote it, but Larnelle Harris just put it over the top! I've Just Seen Jesus (it is Mary Magdalene). Please please check this out. It will blow your mind and you will never be the same again... You weren't supposed to clap at all. Guy Penrod (lead) was a studio backup singer when he came to the Gaither Vocal Band. If you watch older videos of Crook and Chase you will see him there also, singing backup for the guest performers. Marshall Hall:Tenor Wes Hampton: Baritone I believe Marshall and Wes switched up from time to time for their parts. Bill Gaither got to where he did that a lot to save the tenor's voice. Of course, Bill was bass. Bill always kept top rate vocalists in his group. That makes it pretty hard to pick out a favorite mix. It is impossible for me to pick between Guy Penrod and Michael English. They have different styles but both are fantastic at what they do. David Phelps is amazing but you cannot discount Wes Hampton. He's steady and he's there never missing the target note with a great range. Of his most recent past baritones there's no way I could say Mark Lowry was better than Russ Taff or vice versa. (Russ has a testimony well worth listening to.) There was a movie that came out recently about Russ's struggles with alcohol and drugs. I will say that the ones who seemed to have the best chemistry within the group was Mark Lowry/Michael English/Wes Hampton on and off stage. Those three were a riot together. Bills current group doesn't disappoint either. He still keeps vocalists capable of filling multiple parts. Reggie Smith and Wes Hampton alternate between tenor, baritone and lead. Adam Crabb is the main lead, but also fills baritone on occasions. Todd Suttles sings baritone, lead and for the first time in many years Bill has picked up a vocalist in Todd who can also carry a bass line. Smart move on Bill's part. Penrod/Taff/Phelps/Gaither: "Let Freedom Ring". English/Lowry/Hampton/Phelps/Gaither: "I Believe In A Hill Called Mt. Calvary". Crabb/Hampton/Suttles/Phelps/Gaither: "Sometimes It takes A Mountain". Crabb/Hampton/Suttles/Smith/Gaither: "Chain Breaker".
