This is the best version of O Holy Night. It is not a song that is easy to sing and it doesn't sound good if not sing with a powerful voice and full of emotion. You have to sing it picturing yourself walking through Bethlehem 2000 years back coming across a small place where there are animals seeing the baby has just been born--and you have to sing it like you want the world to know just that. If you were to die today, are you a 100% sure you will go to heaven? If no, here is what the bible says, (1) Romans 3:23 KJV [23] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Q1. Do you know what Sin is? Sin is anything bad that we have done. Q2. Have you sinned before? Yes or No? (2) Revelation 21:8 KJV [8] But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Because we have sinned, and God does not allow Sin into Heaven, the punishment is burning hell. What is the way to reconcile our peace and relationship with God? Q3. Do you know the Story of Jesus? (3) Romans 5:8 KJV [8] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus = God who lived up in Heaven, but he came down on earth and became a man like us, he lived for 33.5 years without committing any sin. Then there were certain people who were jealous and therefore framed him on phony charges, and crucified him. Then he was buried and resurrected on the third day; Now he lives in HEAVEN. Q4. Do you know why Jesus went through all this bloody mess for us? A4. As mentioned, our sin is the reason why we can’t go to heaven, and the only thing that can wash away our sin is the Blood of Jesus. (4) Romans 5:9 KJV [9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. According to the bible, the only way for us to reconcile with God is through Christ Jesus’s blood, and not through any works that we do or merits we accumulate, such as water baptism, attending church, or any good thing that we do. The following verses clearly support this. (5) Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast. (6) 2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. In order to get saved, repentance of one’s sin is needed to get saved, we need to be sorry, and repent, with conviction, that we are a wretched sinner. (7) Romans 10:9 KJV [9] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. If you truly do believe in everything you have heard in the gospel, ,I strongly suggest you to make a proclamation to GOD! You can say it to God in less than 15 seconds !Repeat after this simple prayer, to make sure you truly get saved. Remember repeating this prayer doesn't save you, it's you telling God you BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. Ok, here is the prayer : ‘Dear GOD, I know I am a sinner, as I repent, I put my faith, that Jesus is GOD, and that he died, buried and resurrected, so that his blood, can wash away my Sins. I put my faith in that alone to save me, not my good works. In Jesus’s holy name, I pray. Amen! Congratulations ! Now you are a child of God. Bill Gaither has spoken many times about David to people in interviews. One interview he did he said that David has been known to really get into the song he is singing. When the Spirit starts to move thru him, he gets more into the song and goes deeper and deeper. Bill said that you know David is deep when he starts to slightly shake. He spoke of one concert the GVB did that David had a solo. After song was over, Bill had to divert from the drawn schedule and go to a couple of different songs that David didn't sing because David became so Spirit filled during his solo, he literally couldn't stop his hand from shaking. Bill also said that during these songs, David has also been known to start to cry, not very noticeably, but the tears would be flowing. He said David has a hard time recovering from those moments quickly so they divert from the program to allow him to gather himself. David is a very spiritual and emotional person. He takes his faith very seriously. He doesn't take his voice for granted. He knows it is a gift from God and he is doing exactly what he knows God wants him to do with it. For that, he is rewarded by maintaining his voice where many had already started losing aspects of theirs after the same amount of time and by the natural aging process and its effect on the voice. I hope we continue to hear David perform for many more years. God has definitely given him a gift and everyone who hears him knows that.

The best tenor in our lifetime. Even beating out Pavarotti in Guinness World Record for the highest tenor notes and highest tenor notes sustained. Which is no joke coming from the chest. It wastes so much air quickly. Somehow David can hold it until it seems as if he is on the brink of passing out. No breaks or cracks in the voice. Just pure talent. He could’ve made it anywhere. He chose to stay with the gospel arena in which God gave him his talent. What an amazing voice that was gifted to David. He didn’t waste it either. He shared such a great talent.
@jazztom864 жыл бұрын
apples and oranges. Phelps is a "musical" tenor, a pop singer. An amazing one, obviously. Pavarotti was an Opera singer, and while he is regarded as the technical golden standard in Opera, there are many tenors who are more appreciated than Pavarotti by real Opera fans, like Björling, Corelli, Gigli, Caruso... Also Pavarotti for popularity's sake insisted on singing repertoire that his voice was not made for. "Nessun dorma" is not an aria for a lyrical tenor like Pav was. Listen to Corelli sing that aria. But generally speaking, large chunks of your comment don't make any sense at all.

@Captain 7 Pavarotti is no joke. His range however and depth can not match David Phelps. Although Pavarotti can seem like he is singing effortlessly
@kingsolo62414 жыл бұрын
@Captain 7 yea I love the three tenors especially. But Pavarotti didn’t have range and was stuck to one style. In fact when Pavarotti sung with Barry White he couldn’t keep up and Barry dominated the show. However that wouldn’t happen with David Phelps due to range and sustained notes.

We have a hopeful future.....thanks to the Lord Jesus And I long for it David.... Not because I am tired of life or unhappy now....but I look forward to the fulfillment of God's Promises to us...yes, to everyone who believes in the work of redemption of the Lord Jesus. We may soon be with Him...., woh... then all suffering, pain, sorrow is over.... That prospect gives us the courage and strength to stand firm in this broken world.... And I pray for you and that many more will receive the Lord Jesus as their Savior....🙏❤

@@user-de4jk8vj4c This is true, we were all blind at one point. Even after becoming born again, we still stumble in the flesh! We're saved totally by His grace alone! :) Did you make a video on your testimony? How did He reveal Himself to you? My mother and I have had experiences with Him that also were confirmed outside of our minds. A few just recently, I'll post here: *JESUS is COMING SOON!* Around a year and a half ago I was out riding my bike along a spot that I'm not too familiar with. I felt that "not home" feeling and didn't like it; I started to tell myself *"Well, Jesus is..."* and before I could finish it, my head turns to the right and sees a big sign in the grass: *"COMING SOON!"* - Quickly I burst into laughter at the timing of this. It was *seamless.* So I went home and called my mother on the phone and told her about it. She quickly said to me: *"That's confirmation!"* - As *soon as she said that,* the memory was brought to my conscious mind that I prayed, *just two days before,* asking the Lord if He really told my mother: *"Soon, child, soon."* bass / baritone range, and cannot scream even close to that pitch in the dream. I learned later in the day that *NY* lit up the *One World Trade* center building *PINK,* _IN CELEBRATION OF_ being able to murder babies in the womb at 9+ months! I was shocked (and disgusted), at how this was the confirmation to my dream. Will we be here to see this? I assumed so, or else I see no other reason why the Lord would show me this dream. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've been born again since 1996 (at age 17) and my mother has been born again since the early-mid 1970s (her early-mid 20s). We've both had multiple experiences and words from the Lord over the years (about current situations at those times) but *never about anything concerning end times.* Only in the last couple of years did He wake us up to this. So let's keep watch. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *Link to my forum where I've posted a few other experiences with Jesus + some of my viewpoints on biblical subjects:* kzbin.info/door/OqOr-lYMcAF-N39vx8WLngdiscussion?view_as=subscriber

There seems to be a split between some people loving the whole thing and others just enjoying it from about 3:30 onwards when he smashes the high note, the choir joins in and it kind of balances out. For me, the opening 3 minutes are beautiful, yes he changes styles, yes it’s slow but that’s deliberate, because he’s telling a story, he’s preaching, he’s not just singing a bunch of random words to a given melody like most others who attempt this song. He truly believes in what he’s saying and who he’s saying it to, so he stretches that message out. That’s my thought anyway. It seems that no one can argue with this guys voice, his range and stability are outstanding and this for me is the most beautiful rendition of this song and it’s the first song I listen to every festive period 😊

And the final high note that David hits at 4:02 & holds through 4:08, NOTHING COMPARES TO THIS ENTIRE SONG & PRODUCTION!!! At least for me. And if there is a more anointed song & performance, I have not seen it. So Thank you Brothers & Sisters for staying true to your call from God, and making this moment possible. PRAISE GOD HALLELUJAH!!!!

When I listen to David Phelps sing I think that this is a touch of heaven in that it is what it will be like in heaven when we all sing beautifully with our Lord. This is just a glimpse of what it will be!

There is absolutely no way to match this performance. I am not religious but I am a singer and this guy is just jaw dropping!

Yeah I've been singing for my whole life, but professionally for 36 years. David's voice is one of the best instruments I've ever heard. Just unbelievable tone, control and power! I post this every Christmas. Unmatched!!

Doug Bertram indeed pure perfection!

Silly nonsense.

Robert Macauley You are a silly man for saying such a thing. Silly nonsense will be something you will regret saying if don't change your mindset. You are a fool if you think you can escape your Creator unscathed with your unbelieving ways. Jesus is Lord and your corrupt thinking will never change that. Get with the program or perish in your ignorance. This is not a religious statement, it's a spiritual fact.

How could anyone dislike this video??? This man is so anointed by the spirit in this song! We love you, Jesus! King of kings 👑

Josh Groban is a way better singer

@@swolfe9668 then you don’t understand the anointing of the Holy Spirit. this man is on fireeeeee with it.

@@swolfe9668 as a Groban fan and a singer myself I'm afraid they're not even on the same page. You can disagree with the overtly Christian message of Gaither but this man is a truly phenomenal singer.

His voice comes from God who gives without revocation. No one can sing like this without God's anointing. Glory be to GOD who gives gifts to men.

I love how at 3:43 when he swings through " voi-oi-ces..." the guy behind him physically shudders with delight. He's being jolted by the perfection.

That's Mark Lowry, baritone in the GVB, comedian, and composer of the lyrics to "Mary Did You Know."

If you watch at about 4:19, Mark also raises his arms & says Hallelujah when David is holding -divine-

The guy behind him you’re referring to is Mark Lowry. He co-authored the song Mary Did You Know. Another beautiful Christmas song.

You should watch his "Ave Maria" one. The voice control is crazy. He is doing most of it with no instruments, so you can really here how fantastic his control is. Here is a link to it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWLYp4Cre8emeNE
