Really enjoyed GGDP as a Rondo of Blood/Classicvania homage, so looking forward to this more SotN/Metroidvania inspired sequel. Hope we get some crossover cards in Card-en-Ciel (or making the Gunvolt connection with Nori/Kurona and the Kamizono family stuff more than just an Easter egg). The 40-item collectathon trophy in the first game really could have done with some kind of quality of life tracking system though, so hopefully the SotN-esque map means we don't get a repeat of that.

While i am sad that Konami may never give us any more great Castlevania games & only do ports of older games or mobile games chocked full of microtransactions to milk players for more money. At least we have games like this to fill that void. The only thing I'm slightly disappointed with is the lack of the Mega Man Zero style chopping up the first game had. But seeing as the original is one of my all time fav Inti games (moreso than any Gunvolt!), the fact this is getting a sequel is amazing! As a 35 year old whose first game was Super Mario World, but the game that really got me into gaming was Mega Man X, Inti is the only dev whose majority of new games still give that feeling of playing MMX for the first time, and I can't get enough.

It looks like this one is gonna be a lot better. Just finished the first one and it had some major issues, especially the pace. The fact that at least of these characters has what looks like an air dash is probably gonna make this game play way faster and feel better than umbrella dashing around. They better add a way to track how many collectibles you have left to get too!

Would Gal*Gun even work nowadays? I don't mean people's sensitivities, I mean gameplay wise. On rails light gun shooters don't really exist anymore, so the only other option is VR. The concept of Gal*Gun is already pretty niche, so making it for a platform that not many people have access to to begin with probably isn't in Inti Creates best interest.

@@leonlegend They could just do what they've done before with 2: Switch and VR have gyro aiming of some kind, PC has mouse; and Double Peace was also pretty playable on Vita and PC, imo.

@@ABlob I think 2 kinda proved my point. The problem with 2 (besides its re-use of its own content, defence missions can die in a hole) was that turning around & aiming with the Switch joycon really hurts your wrist after a while. I played Gal*Gun Returns on Switch & I don't remember exactly how it played but I remember finding it abysmal & only Aoi & Kaname's route. & I haven't played it but I heard that The House of the Dead remake on Switch has gyro aiming & it was terrible, with it constantly going off centre & needing to calibrate. So even a traditional light gun shooter wouldn't work. And yes, mice may be better than using analog sticks but are still nowhere near as enjoyable as actual light guns. Which is what annoyed me the most about Double Peace on PS4. The PS4 supports Move controllers but Double Peace's only input method were regular controllers. So the main series has never really reached its full potential & now it's too late, unless they make an arcade game that will probably be exclusive to Japan.
