@@phondrason1246 I can answer this question, and it's a resounding "yes" for being able to capture and breed the Space Fauna. However, being able to breed Leviathans might be a little overpowered.

As a story pack about archive and lore, I hope that there's going to be like some kind of synergy with the Memorialists and the Vault of Knowledge civics, It would make sense right ?

Vaults of Knowledge plays more into the RP of your people learning from the example of great leaders of the past, and not exactly like they're collecting trinkets and other artifacts. Memorialists I do hope they eventually add some interaction with the new archive system, since they are explicitly about recording the passing and deeds of past civilizations and other peoples.

I need more uses for espionage lol Stealing artifacts, stealing relics, stealing tech... I need to be able to do more shenanigans with spies! Looking forward to filling out my archives with LORE, my only nitpick is that I'm not that big a fan of how it's shaped. The flat looking bottom makes it look a little strange in space... like a serving dish? "Madame, your dish of history with a side of cheese has arrived"

I really hope that the next season of Stellaris includes a ground combat rework and an army designer panel akin to the ship designer. I’m envisioning it being titled, Stellaris: Invasion. I think that troops and their equipment are one of the most interesting things in sci-fi still unexplored in Stellaris. Why can’t I equip my ground combat troops with “photon-swords”, power armor, super-serum, lazer guns, etc. Shouldn’t I have to develop a water breathing or sub nautical life support if I’m sending armies to invade an ocean world? All of this is glazed over but it could make certain origins like Subterrenean a lot more interesting if there were dynamics like the ones I’ve mentioned.

That sounds really cool! Though I hope those things get unlocked as extra bonuses for existing tech instead of having even more semi-useful tech clogging up my research options. Maybe troop weapons and armor come free with ship weapon tech. Environmental adaptations could come free with blocker research, to make those more worthwhile.

@@2MeterLP Perfect suggestion. I don’t like tech inflation either, so I’d be cool with only a few tasteful new techs. But the majority should totally be integrated into whatever is already there. Environmental blocker techs, generic repeatables, and certain ship components would be a much more interesting choice if they gave you an extra smidge of unique stuff.

This may be my favorite story pack and possibly one of my favorite DLCs ever. Stellaris lore is just wonderful, I really love the concept of making it more "tangible" (and the breeding of spaceborn creatures is fantastic too!)

Will any of these new civics let you do archaeological sites outside your borders to collect said specimens (or yoink from other Empires)? Because it seems like you cant really play tall with these new things. Doesn’t feel right having to play wide if you’re wanting to go full -Trayzn- Archivist.

Stellaris, playing it right now and it's a great game. Aldo as Mr. Chad Inglis content designer said that he loves lore of the game(as he said in the video he likes reading)...I would personaly prefer if Paradox Interactive put more effort and instead of the reading they give us videos(cut sceens and more) like Blizzard do in WoW, Diablo....I think that would be awsome.

When will regular espionage and sabotage appear in the game? So that you can use intrigue to organize rebels on planets or even appropriate planets for yourself, so that you can rob not only technology, but also resources, so that you can put debuffs on the enemy’s fortifications and fleet, make assassination attempts on leaders or lure them to your side. Briefly about everything that is in "Hearts of Iron IV" and what you don’t have!

This is slightly cool but _MAN_ does it look micromanage-y! Stellaris has already hit the ceiling of how much you have to do. Especially in multiplayer you are *constantly* doing stuff, which tires you out really quickly. So right now I am really averse to anything that adds another layer to that cake.

151 base game and 90 for DLC does not seem fair, you're essentially locking content from a DLC behind other DLC, this is like when EA made a DLC for a DLC in the sims.

Pretty sure all that content is still available for the original dlc. But if you want the additional functionality that is the archive system you need both dlcs. Really not that shady. If you only have the archive dlc then it still has plenty of content (151) but if you also have complimentary dlc you get extra. Win win imo. Dlc within a dlc would be if they then released an archive expansion with more archive content beyond this dlc but you had to have the original archive for it to work.

_"Relics"_ is a term already used ingame for a subset of items (Blade of the Huntress, Omnicodex, ect.) which are not stored in the Vivarium. I'd imagine they didn't want to cause confusion by also calling these Vivarium specimens "Relics". Same for "Artifacts" and the existing Minor-Artifacts. I'm not sure how space fans somes to mind from specimens, but it seems like a funny thing to imagine. '^^

Anyone else getting real sick of them adding new tradition trees without expanding how many traditions you can pick? I'm not saying it has to be a 1 to 1 increase, but throw in another 3 or 4 slots please.

No, I'm actually quite glad they don't. We are _finally_ at a point where empires aren't forced to pick traditions (or ascensions for that matter) that go against their fundamental principles and for which they have no use (Inwards Perfections having to pick either the Diplomacy or Supremacy Tradition, for example). Now there are actually some choices with both narrative and gameplay implications to be made, increasing the slot would set us back to square one.
