I've commanded several stealth fleets in a video game, Eve Online. Why uncloak the ENTIRE stealth fleet?! Stealth ships are primarily for assualt and hit and run tactics; not a Frontline Vanguard.

So, human ships shields start as impenetrable and their weapons ignore the enemy shield and cut up the enemy ships easily. An enemy Dreadnaught starts fighting and suddenly the humans weapons are not that good and their shields are no better than their enemy's. How does a single ship starting to fight cause such drastic changes in the weapons and shields of enemy ships.

This author can't decide which side is winning and is constantly flipping the script to suit whatever nonsensical idea pops up in their head. First, the Elysian fleet is caught off guard, and is totally surrounded by human ships with cloaking tech that makes them invisible to Elysian sensors. Despite this, nobody in the human fleet thinks to cloak, move, decloak, and fire during the battle? Then, at the start of the battle, the Elysian weapons can't penetrate the human shields while the human weapons can easily destroy Elysian ships? Then, as if the Elysian fleet is suddenly not totally surrounded, Elysian cruisers head for Earth and have to be caught by fighters and destroyed? How do the cruisers get through the human fleet that's totally surrounding them? Then, the Elysian Hammer, which was presumably there the entire time while the Elysian fleet was getting its ass kicked, suddenly decides to join the fight and is this invincible behemoth whose weapons can now easily penetrate the human shields and obliterate the human fleet? Why did it sit idly by and do nothing when the human fleet was kicking the Elysian fleet's ass? As if that wasn't enough schizophrenic story telling, all of a sudden, because of the Hammer, the human fleet went from being unscathed by Elysian wapons and kicking Elysian ass to getting its ass kicked so badly that the humans must desperately deploy the untested singularity bomb before they are wiped out? Make up your mind already! I stopped listening at that point. Also, does every one of these stories require the ship commander to grip the arms of his chair with white knuckles? Does there always have to be a statement about the indomitable human spirit? Story bad.

The Human Fleet is pursuing an enemy running away, with orders to destroy as many as possible. Their turning to Ram would scarcely change those orders. An Attacking enemy is fired upon to Take Them Out Of Action. Your Vessels have Superior Weapons and Shielding, The enemy attempting to Ram Isn't a Problem, until they are Too Close to Evade Physical Contact. Unless the vessel Targeted for Ramming is disabled enough to Not be able to evade a Direct Collision, it could probably survive a Glancing Blow, which most likely would Damage further the one providing it. What we Would Have Is A Game Of Chicken, with one side much better equipped to deal with the other.
