This is by far my favorite story you guys have done so far. I love these alien invasion/ military type stories :)

I like the concept. I am frustrated with the lack of detail and perhaps inconsistency, although more detail could resolve these. So detail the biology of the alien 'fungus' and the adverse effects of it to Terran life. I don't like that the 'fungus' has a physical central core, could just be me but a virtual core or a logic structure that could be corrupted instead of a bomb 'physical'. And of course more nerdy details of the biology. The discovery that it's not terrestrial needs some detail as this was where I almost quit listening, a striking difference; not carbon based, you have a lot of really cool possibilities. I really like the concept and attitude of the story. Most Sci fi does not do biology justice. You have a great opportunity here. Write on!

Using discriptive writing techniques can give a better image in the mind of the reader. Or person who is listening to the audio.

Terrifying story. The aliens could do this to us at anytime they want. I think the world should start building space destroyers to patrol around our planet; armed with the most advanced weapons we have. They should have heavily armored hulls; with the most advanced engines we can devise at this time. There are thousands of alien ships going around our planet all of the time. As the years go by, we should keep updating their engines and weapons. Eventually when we develop shield technology, we should put that feature in them also. We should start now. Anything up there helping to protect us is better than nothing at all. Over the course of centuries, maybe we will have a defense force that will really be able to help protect us.

USSR collapsed from monstrous amounts of money trying to keep up to US. Your plan to counteract a threat that doesn't exist. If you think aliens are on earth then the supposed meeting that President Eisenhower had with aliens allowing them to take a sampling of humanity is valid.

Everything you’ve suggested is Sci Fi for now. We can barely make Earth orbit. Any visitors from beyond would be so advanced, if they’re hostile, we’re toast. Just grabbing asteroids and dropping them on Earth could be an extinction event. Millenia from now we may have such tech. If we don’t kill each other first.
