I'm not sure where the confusion is coming from or what the issue is around my voice, but I will assure everyone that other than a minor correction for my American Audience and projecting to the camera, this is my normal speaking tone. I understand it may make people uncomfortable, even if I don't understand why, while your visit to the Tavern is appreciated, it is never manditory. We appreciate the visit, and we hope you'll return, but if you do not, we were glad to have you. Cheers friends, stay bloodthirsty!

It is necessary to say that Galadriel's wisdom and power didn't sprout out of nowhere. Tolkien designed her to be the synthesis of all the High Elves. Galadriel was not only a Noldo, she was also a Vanya and a Falmar, in contrast to Fëanor and his sons who were pure Noldor. Galadriel was a disciple of several Gods and demigods (the Valar Yavanna and Aulë and Melian the Maia) who were specialist in the Fabric of the World and living things (hence Galadriel's profound "magical" knowledge), and she was gifted by the Supreme God with Interchange of Thought. But what really made Galadriel not to be a MarySue was her experience in the Noldolantë (the biggest collective character development arc in the whole history of the elves). Galadriel refrained her pride and that decision made her survive the terrible Noldolantë, that cost her the loss of her brothers, friends and other relatives. In contrast to Celebrimbor, Galadriel did learn the lessons the Noldolantë brought to the elves.

Those C names in LOTR always throw me off, too. There’s a lot that we want to pronounce with a soft C instead of a hard C just based on our language norms (I always want to say Cirdan with a soft C, for example, lol).

Right? I've been reading these books for 20 years, I've written academic papers on them and even done live performative readings of the books, and STILL the C rule gets me 😅😂

So you're telling me, Galadriel is not suppoed to be some obnoxious girl boss who is always right, stronger and smarter than any men and could fight a troll all by herself?! Outrageous! 🤡🤣
@BlackDragonTavern
@BlackDragonTavern 10 күн бұрын
Well she was certainly smarter than most, if not all, of the men say for Gandalf, but she certainly wouldn't have fought a cave troll in the books 😅 The hothead of ROP is certainly a... Different interpretation than what Tolkien intended 😅

Good video but cringey fake voice. I bet your real voice is top tier, no need to pretend brethren

I am most glad you enjoyed your trip to the Tavern my friend. My voice is still a bit off from having been sick, that's why I'm raspy. But other than that, and a slight correction for the benefit of my American audience, that's just how I speak, friend. Forlorn that it is not for everyone, but at least you enjoyed the story 🙏

Please dont inflect your voice it only creates farce and is quickly unwatchable. Just grab some vocal training if you want more richness and texture like ian McKellan etc. Even if you are not a natural bass or baritone you wil find that with breath, training and control you will get a voice with more colour and depth if thats what you want. You are a big guy and you probably are a natural bass so with vocal guidance you actually have a good chance of utilising excellent resonance to actually get what you want here, but if you inflect you simply wont sound good. Look up pacing, diaphragmatic control and breathing. Vocal coaches (with or without singing) will massively help you create your voice.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, this seems like a fairly extreme response to three seconds of impersonation of Gandalf 😅
