Good stuff. It was, of course, around 80AD when Torwoodlee Broch was destroyed. Not 800 AD as stated.. On the whole great commentary though. Well done man

Hello Mark , an author William Comyns Beaumont claimed the catrail was the wall the Emperor Hadrian actually built approx 80 miles long. Hadrians Border wall was built later. He claimed old Edinburgh's geography was a far better fit for Jerusalem as described in the bible and Josephus. Do you think the catrail ditch could have been lined with wooden stakes which could fit Pales-tine as in wooden pales and a territorial border ? Why does archeology seem to be clueless about the catrail ? books.google.co.uk/books?id=Mwb_WOGqKCkC&pg=PA464&lpg=PA464&dq=pales+stakes+palestine&source=bl&ots=9261QFR3h1&sig=8riGW2PHfu_5yLKXePyUWvx50h8&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiqsvrvq-jUAhViKMAKHXKNA3IQ6AEIOTAE#v=onepage&q=pales%20stakes%20palestine&f=false

"Anybody consider that the Pale in question might be the area of Palestine? Just a thought. : : : The original meaning of 'pale" is a long stake or stick... think Vlad the Impaler. It also came to mean a fence or fortification made up of stakes. 'Palisade' is not an abreviation of pale but a word that comes from the same root. It's an interesting question about whether the world 'palestine' has its root in the word 'pale'. For some reason I thought this expression did have a specific connection with Jewish history but I can't find any reference to it now." www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/23/messages/342.html

I see Alistair Moffat commented that the Catrail may just have been exactly like the Walls Hadrian/Severus and Antonine built if it wasn't a native tribes territory divider in his King Arthur book .

Brilliant book. Thoroughly enjoying reading it. I see he thinks the relics at Stow legend may have been a fable to reflect the crusaders in the Holy Land period. Thats sensible and fair as long as the relics at Stow didn't pre-date the legend. Could an Arthur have brought back a true cross copy to Stow from a Jerusalem not 3,800 miles away I'm wondering?

Hi Mark, The word BOW, comes from the Icelandic word for BU, (small settlement) that BOW broch doesn't look that small. Thank you Mark, place looks amazing.

Dawn Hilton aye it’s interesting. If you’re interested in Brochs, Edins Hall near Duns is unbelievable. I have made a video about that too funnily enough ha ha

I mapped them all, look west of Bow Castle a few hundred feet, looks like a giant Odin tomb with a guy with a pointy hat. Could it be Odin? In between Bow Castle and Odin are three stones. I know Odin had three sons! Check it out, just near the farm.

0.39 direct west. The other three chambers are just North East literally above the Bow Castle ring. All the stone align with each other! NW 739 feet of the Bow is another ring circle with further cairns. Have to be connected. Bet the energies are great up there.

Hi Mark, have you looked at the larger hill right next to Torwoodlee Broch? I was up there a year ago and it looks like there may have been and old fort or something up there a long time ago.

A period unassigned Ariel photo of an earthwork that runs from the Antonine Wall at Kinneil - the head of the wall . How could Archeologists have missed it when they have excavated a Roman Fortlet a few hundred yards away ? canmore.org.uk/collection/624727 --------. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/nX_LpGqKp91jg80
