Brilliant as always I live in the borders and always try and get out to explore areas as much as I can. The Scottish Borders is full of history and many unknown and hidden areas I believe still awaiting to be discovered

Regional Society Representative of Clan Carruthers, here. While a clan in our own right with a chief at our front, traditionally we've been proud to be considered one of the very earliest septs of the Noble House of Bruce. We owe them so very much, and proud to be among such true hearted company. Slàinte mhath, cousins, Joseph Todd Carruthers

Thank you Mark for braving all those Scottish prickles those ruins were incredible. Was really pleased to find you on my feed this morning. The man eating cattle looked well fed - you would have been quite safe it’s only the skinny ones you need to watch out for!

Love what you do Mark! Can I be selfish and ask for more Clan Kerr content? 😂 Maybe origins or allies and feud stories etc. Would love to know more about my ancestors pre border reivers. I know there is Norse/norman links at some stage. Any info on the legends that the original picts trace their lineages back to the exiled queen scotia of Egypt or perhaps Phoenicia.

Those weren't the stones by the forest road. The stones are on the map, there's two sets of stones but they're well within the woodland. There's a fire break that will make it easier to reach the larger set but would need to be done in the winter. The smaller set might be more easier to reach by following one of the sikes that flows into the Brakehope Burn. The larger set can be found at: OS Grid Ref: NT 26865 28772 Latitude:55°32'50"N Longitude:3°9'38"W The smaller set are close by at: OS Grid Ref: NT 27006 28653 Latitude:55°32'46"N Longitude:3°9'30"W They won't be easy to reach. Would need to be really committed to reach them. Possibly take a machete to cut the branches to forge a path through the wood. Well done on facing the nettles to show us the tower more closely, really appreciate the dedication. Thank you.
