In Galatians chapter 5, we see Paul's emphasis on the divine longing for believers to bask in genuine liberation, free from the constraints of religious regulations. We'll explore the potential consequences of disregarding the Holy Spirit's guidance, delving into the impact on personal lives and relationships. Paul also addresses his concerns about those who may undermine the faith of the Galatians and expresses his unwavering readiness to confront any obstacles that hinder our spiritual journeys.

Most OSAS folks haven’t repented from sin. They sit in the sewer and deny the clean is possible. Right where the devil wants them. THEIR Jesus doesn’t save from sin (MT1:21) THEIR Jesus is weak and ineffective. Their lord, the devil still controls their life and sin has dominion(Ro6:14). Their eternity IS secure, they have that part right. Unless they turn in TRUE faith to Jesus Christ and repent(mk1:15) and bear fruit in keeping with repentance(mt3:8) and be filled with the fruit of righteousness which through Christ Jesus to the glory and praise of the Father(php1:11). The entire Bible from Dt30:11-14, , Is1, Jer7, Jer36, Eph4-5, just pick a book and I could show you, refutes this cursed sin-practicing, grace-powerless, blood-mixed weak religion. But me showing you will only show your physical eyes. Only the Holy Spirit can open your spiritual eyes to actually see. May the wonderful, powerful and awesome 3rd person of the Godhead, the Spirit of Truth, enlighten the eyes of those who WANT (jer29:13) to live in the liberty of Christ and receive full pardon and deliverance In Jesus Name Amen 🙏

OSAS used to mean Christians who struggled against sin wouid persevere. Now, many think it means they can live live like an unbeliever as long as they once had said a earnest prayer to "accept" Jesus. The basis of the now common position is the view that God is all-loving and inclusive
@Bi0Dr01d
@Bi0Dr01d 10 ай бұрын
But your comment actually implies that OSAS is not true. When the scripture says "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved", and you're granting that a person is praying the earnest of prayers for salvation, then you're implying that they are indeed safe based on this scripture. However, you're then admitting that the person continues to live like an unsaved person. This has only two meanings 1. The person lost his salvation. 2. The person does indeed have a license to sin. Option 3. is not an option 3. They were never saved to begin with 🚫, because if they prayed the earnest of prayers for salvation, then it would imply that they were rejected by God despite their earnest prayer. Therefore, it must be that they were either saved and lost their salvation, or that they had a license to sin. You reject that they have a license to sin. Therefore, they lost their salvation.

@@Bi0Dr01d You conflate being saved and being redeemed, which is why you cannot mention the commandment to forgive others because it proves your claim is ignorant. Everyone is saved, but not everyone is redeemed. If you do not forgive, you will not be forgiven. That's Jesus' own words, mate. The parable of the wicked servant proves that OSAS is nonsense, as well as Jesus own words telling us that all our works and our idle words will be accounted for. This illustrates there's two completely different aspects to "salvation", physical death and sin. Not the same things, eh mate?
@Bi0Dr01d

@@ludwigkirchner08 I only pointed out the implications from the comment above to show why OSAS is not true based on what he said. If the scripture says *"Whosoever* shall call On the name of the Lord will be saved" This implies that without any exceptions, "whoever", praying a genuine prayer of earnestness and belief, will be saved. That is what the scripture says. To disagree with this would imply that even if one prays and believes and pray with earnesty, God may still reject his prayer, which is not what this scripture says. However, the comments above says that after praying the prayer earnestly to accept Jesus, a person lives like the unbeliever. If we combine the scripture that a person would not be rejected If they earnestly came to Jesus in prayer to receive salvation with his comment that the person lives like the unbeliever which implies he is unsaved, then it follows that he lost his salvation. I agree that OSAS is nonsense. It is not with the scripture teaches. You might be misunderstanding where I'm coming from.

@@ludwigkirchner08 Yes, there are three stages of salvation that the Bible speaks of. The Bible does not explicitly state "There are three stages", but the Bible does describe different aspects of a saved believers walk. 1. The initial confession and profession of faith. This is like the man on the cross who expressed faith in Christ, for example. 2. The second stage is the life lived. The reason why the man on the cross could not fulfill the second stage is because he died shortly after and did not have time to fall back into sin and the old life, which means he remained saved. However, if he were to continued living on, then it would have been expected of him "to grow" in the faith, just as Jesus parable says where a man seeks fruit on the tree for 3 years and doesn't find any, and then commands the tree to be cut down. "The life lived" can also be shown when Jesus says to those who would be tortured for Christ's namesake that "he who endures until the end will be saved", for that "in your patience possessed your souls", of course which implies that a person can become weary and lose his faith and therefore his salvation. What's also applied to the second stage is for us to abide in the calling wherein we are called. Jesus says that we must "occupy until he comes" and that means we take the gifts and talents that he has given us to win the Lost and we use those talents to gain more talents, the souls of people we are sent to minister to. That's why all the people who did not use their talents to win others, Jesus said that they would be cast into outer darkness. The second stage also applies to walking in The Spirit and not fulfilling the lusts of the flesh, shown in Galatians chapter 5. What causes us to remain apart from the law is that we walk according to The Spirit and not according to the flesh, because if we walk according to The Spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, and the law condemns The works of the flesh. Because all of these things here in number two *are required,* then works are indeed involved in salvation. One can say that a person isn't truly saved unless they show evidence of that fruit, but that would still virtually be saying the same thing that such fruit *is necessary,* and therefore implies it is required, because if the fruit does not follow, then a person isn't saved. Either way, works are involved. However, the Bible does recognize these people as "servants of God" who did not fulfill his command and were cast out, so it does not seem to be true that a person isn't saved in the beginning when they profess faith, but that he is indeed saved during the initial confession because the scripture says "whosoever", but does not maintain that state because he does not live the life in bearing fruit. If during the second stage a person does not continue to grow, or if they grow in some areas but don't fulfill the calling on their lives, they might not be saved. This would mean that works are indeed required and part of salvation. 3. The final stage is ultimate salvation, after death. This is after they've endured to the end, they've lived holy and refrained from the lust of the flesh, obeyed the commandments of God and fulfilled his purpose and calling, and kept the faith.

For those who are confused still, here are some passages you are not understanding: Romans 3:20 says, “Therefore no one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.” The law refers to God's commands. It clearly says that if you are trusting that God is looking at your obedience for your salvation, you will not be declared righteous in His sight. The law was never meant to make us righteous. It only shows us what sin is according to God. Only faith in Christ makes you righteous. Obeying the law will declare you unrighteous. Righteousness is required for salvation. It sounds counterintuitive, but this is God's Word. He says that trusting in your obedience will declare you unrighteous and therefore, unsaved. Romans 11:6 says, "And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace." This verse clearly says that if you mix grace with works then you cancel grace. Salvation is by grace alone. Grace means that it is a free gift. The moment you add any payment to a gift you cancel the gift--it is no longer a gift, it then becomes wages. If you mix works with your faith in Christ, you cancel out the faith (which is God's grace). Titus 3:5, perhaps one of the clearest verses that show that we are not saved based on things we do or neglect to do. It reads, “…he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that having been justified by his grace…” How clear is that? We are saved, not because of the righteous things we have done, but only because of His mercy. When we are saved, then we have become a new creature in Christ. Our spirits literally change into perfect spirits at conversion. It is a rebirth and renewal that takes place for our spirit. Galatians 3:10 says, “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’” Basically, this is what James also said. You are guilty of breaking all of the law if you break just one command, so you are cursed if you rely on the law to save you. How clear is this? You are cursed if you believe that your works contributes to your salvation. Salvation requires perfection. If you break any one command of God, then you have fallen short of His glory and righteous standard. You are cursed if you are trusting that your works are keeping you saved.

Yes I agree our salvation is by grace of GOD the father, purchased by God the son and inwardly out by god, the holy Spirit. We are still held to justice though, and anyone who continues to practice sin without a willingness to change, can face GOD'S justice. Being saved doesn't mean we have a free ticket to sin. If we are truly saved, there will be fruits. The fruits are the parting of sin, and being good stewards of Christ. This is seen by others usually more often than ourselves. It does take time and an active commitment to God. We must continually read, and seek Him in the scriptures. We must be reborn constantly, by repenting , and atoning. GOD, Jesus, and the holy Spirit will do rest for us. Correct?

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” (Col 3:1-17, KJV)

Wow! This is a tough crowd! It's been two thousand years of living in the grace of The Father Almighty, and the quarrels of 'knowledge' continue unabated. We live by faith, not by sight (knowledge), being loved by The Father Originator and Son Creator Redeemer. Born of His Spirit, we are realizing love and wisdom and fruitfulness. "Knowledge' is the least of the virtues. It is like the difference between facts and truth. Knowledge is the only thing that the adversary has left in his bag (including bastard science). Something that I gained without knowledge: 'saved' is not the be all and end all, as some surmise (it's the beginning!); work and works are not the same. Don't 'figure it out' be in His Spirit. amen

@statesman6379
@statesman6379 10 ай бұрын
@@RodMartinJr Galatians 5:4 says, “You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.” If you are seeking to help Christ along with your salvation by your own works then you are actually not saved. You have fallen away from grace and have been alienated from Christ. Grace is God doing for us what we cannot do ourselves. It also means God giving us (salvation) what we cannot achieve ourselves. Indeed, no one can serve 2 masters, as Jesus has said. But you are reading too much into this verse in Matthew 6:24. Salvation is not by serving, but rather, salvation is by faith in Christ alone, apart from works and serving. You are reading salvation into this verse and it is not about salvation at all. In fact, if you study the surrounding context of this verse, and not just pull it out of its context, then you will understand what Matthew 6:24 is really saying. The context of Matthew 6:24 is about treasures in Heaven. God rewards us when we serve Him alone. He does not reward us if we are temporarily doing Satan’s agenda. Doing Satan’s agenda could be as simple as telling a lie, or not professing Christ in a situation that you are too embarrassed to do so. God does not reward when we mix serving God and Satan at the same time. So if you are doing God’s work, but at the same time you throw in some sin then God will not reward you treasure in Heaven for that particular effort. Note: You will not even be in Heaven if you trust that your works are helping to save you. You are lacking faith in Jesus’ finished work, if you feel you need to add to it. You are not trusting in Christ enough. Romans 11:6 says, “If by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, then grace would no longer be grace.” If you are adding works to God’s grace then it is no longer a free gift because you have added your own payment to it, thereby you have cancelled the grace. Your tainted works plus Jesus’ finished work, cancels Jesus’ finished work on the Cross. God will never accept such a payment for sin. Perfection is required for salvation, which is why James said that if you break one command then you are guilty of breaking them all. The reason why people don’t understand that salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone is because they read the Bible too fast and assume that everything is talking about salvation without looking closely at the surrounding text to see what it is really saying.

@@RodMartinJr Salvation cannot be earned by our acts, nor can it be forfeited by our acts. There is only one way to forfeit your salvation, but it is not by your acts or works. Sin does not forfeit one’s salvation either. Once saved, always saved except for one exception, and that is to change one’s mind of the very faith that is saving you. It is our faith that is saving us. To renounce one’s faith is the only way to lose your salvation. In other words, a Christian today who decides to become an atheist or Jehovah’s Witness next week has given up their salvation. It is not from sin that you can lose it, but only by renouncing your faith. Salvation is not dependent on what we do, therefore we cannot lose it by what we do. You believe that we are supposed to maintain our salvation by our works and by refraining from sin. If one does criminal acts, then they lose their fellowship with God, not salvation. You are still not understanding the Biblical definition of grace. Grace is God doing for you what is impossible for you to do yourself. Grace is God giving you what you do not deserve; as opposed to mercy, which is God not giving you what you do deserve. Grace is not earnable because it is God’s work, not ours. I see you have no answer to the verse I gave you (Galatians 5:4). Those who hold to your view ignore such verses. The Bible teaches that once saved always saved. Paul says 3 times that we were sealed with the Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption (Eph. 1:13-14, 4:30, and 2 Cor. 1:22). Let’s just look at the verses in Ephesians. It says in 1:13, “…Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession…” In Eph. 4:30, it says, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the Day of Redemption.” Note that you receive the Holy Spirit by believing and that you are sealed with Him for a particular date in the future. You are sealed for the Day of Redemption. Let’s think about that. If I were to commit some sin next week that would make me lose my salvation, then this passage in Ephesians would be lying to me. You cannot lose salvation before the Redemption date. You were sealed for that date. No one can break God’s seals. He calls the Holy Spirit a guarantee and inheritance. Inheritance means reward. Salvation is an unmerited reward and promise. God does not want you to ever wonder if you’re really saved. He guarantees you are saved by giving you the Holy Spirit and sealing you for that future date of Him redeeming you in person, that is, the day that He ushers you into Eternal Life. Jesus promises the same thing. In John 14:16 He says, “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-the Spirit of Truth.” Jesus says that you cannot lose the Holy Spirit because once you have Him, He will be with you forever. Forever means tomorrow and next week. If you lose Him tomorrow, then that wasn’t forever. Romans 8:9 says that if you are a believer then that means that you automatically have the Holy Spirit. To not be a believer is to not have the Holy Spirit. It says, “You, however, are not controlled by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.” This verse says that all believers have the Holy Spirit and all unbelievers don’t. You receive Him at conversion. And we learned that a believer is locked in with the Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption and forever as a guarantee of our inheritance. Romans 8:1 says that there is now no condemnation for Christians. Once you are a Christian by faith, then you will never be sent to Hell. You are not understanding salvation. Salvation requires perfection. Galatians 3:10 says, “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” The Law requires perfection. Salvation requires keeping the law. The law requires perfection; hence, salvation requires perfection. This is why James says that if you break just one command then you are guilty of breaking them all. If you commit a white lie then that makes you just as guilty as the one who committed murder and both are doomed to eternal Hell without putting their faith in Christ for their salvation. God judges us based on the whole law, not from bits and pieces of it. You have to keep all of the law for it to make you righteous, which is impossible. Or, He judges you based on the blood of Jesus covering you. But He does not judge based on a mix of the blood of Jesus and your efforts. Your efforts cancels the free gift of Christ. Since salvation requires perfection, then that means that salvation can only be gifted by God for free. It is by grace you have been saved. This not of yourselves. It is not by works. It is a gift of God so that no one will boast. No one will be able to boast, saying, “I am saved because I believed in Christ and I did ______.” Fill in the blank with whatever. Believers will only say, “I am saved because of what Jesus did, not because of anything that I did.” It has nothing to do with what you do. It is not of yourselves. Your works are like filthy rags in God’s eyes. We are evil in His sight even when we try to be good. Jesus said that no one is good but God. Romans 11:6 says that your works cancels God’s grace. Another thing you don't understand is our new nature in Christ, but I've typed enough for now. Our spirits have literally changed into righteous spirits that are holy and pure like Christ.

I am a OSAS. I truly hate sin. I hate my sin. I hate sin no matter who commits it. I strive to obey Christ through the power that comes by faith in His might, not my own. I do not trust in my works to save me. Salvation is by faith alone, not by works. Christians cannot lose their salvation because they have been sealed by the Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption. Salvation actually changes the nature of the spirit of the believer. Their spirit is perfect and righteous as Christ. Ephesians 4:24 says that the new you was created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Hebrews 10:10 says, "And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Christ once for all." Notice the "once for all" part. Hebrews 10:14 says, "..because by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being sanctified." Notice the "has made perfect forever" part. We are holy and righteous like Christ (past tense-this happens at conversion.)

@robusc4940 Christians don't wilfully sin. The walk in the spirit and those who walk in the spirit dont fulfil the lusts of the flesh. The Spirit mortifies the flesh. If you are committing wilful sins, you need to repent and ask God to give you the power to overcome. Because in Jesus all things are possible only those that overcome sin that see the Kingdom of Heaven.

It shocked me to hear that many Jews think that thoughts don't matter only evil actions. It is clear even in the OT how much thoughts matter to God. After Noah built the alter after the flood, God was pleased but he talked about 'every tiny thought of mans was evil from childhood'!! This is also mentioned before the flood so our thoughts do lead to sin and our thoughts prove weather we are a child of God or of Satan!!

Show your faith by your obedience otherwise your faith is not real without obedience. And yes he builds his argument ts using the 10 commandments! Indeed. If someone says it's not the case, they don't fully comprehend what salvation really is. To be saved is to be transferred from Death to Life; from Darkness to Light. We become new creatures, fit for the Kingdom of God; made righteous by Christ's blood and his righteousness.

@@AmyB1961 Indeed. Three times in the New Testament, Paul says that Christians are sealed by the Holy Spirit for the Day of Redemption. He gives us a date! If we were to lose salvation next week, then these verses would be lying to us. God seals Christians into their salvation by the Holy Spirit for the future date of their redemption. Furthermore, salvation is not predicated based on what we do. Salvation is by faith alone, apart from works. We do not have a righteousness of our own that could possibly save us. Our righteousness are like filthy rags in God's sight. As you said, we are now new creatures in Christ Jesus. In Christ, we have been literally changed. We have a new identity in Christ Jesus. We are made up of body (flesh), soul, and spirit. The Cross did nothing for our bodies. We will drop this flesh at death, and Jesus will later raise us up new purified bodies. Our spirits have been recreated to be perfect like Christ because Jesus imputes to us His righteousness via our faith in His finished work of the Cross. Our souls (our personalities) are in the process of becoming "saved" or sanctified. This is a daily process of God making us more righteous day by day, even if He needs to resort to using His discipline to do it. Our souls (personalities) are in a process of becoming spiritually mature. Some verses confuse Bible students. Often verses that appear to say that Christians can lose their salvation is not referring to salvation at all, but rather to fellowship. Our sin can cause us to temporarily lose fellowship with God. But God promises that He will never take away our salvation.

Let the Bible speak for itself... Matthew 10:22 - only those who endure to the end will be saved Matthew 13:20-21 “falls away” from what? Paul says they fall away from grace (Gal 5:4) Matthew 21:43 Matthew 24:13 - only those who endure to the end will be saved Matthew 24:45-51 faithful servant falls away and cast into hell Mark 13:20 Had the Lord not cut short the days, all who were saved would be led astray and/or not able to endure John 6:66 - many disciples walked away from Jesus John 15:6 “cuts off” same as Romans 11:17ff where branches are broken off or Heb 6:7-8 where thorny land is cursed/burned John 15:6 says those who were once connected to Christ are now dead branches and are cast away to be burned. Romans 8:12-17 “if” “fall back” “provided we” (all conditional terms) Romans 11:17-23 olive branches cut off and/or grafted in - former believer can be grafted in again if repents again 1 Cor 10:1-13 (v. 4 says they had Christ, v. 12 says they can fall) 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 “if” - “believed in vain” means was once a believer, but didn't hold to the teaching after initially believing. Gal 5:4 - severed from Christ, fallen from grace - Paul speaking to brothers (Gal 4:28, 31) who turn to law for justification, and turn away from grace Col 1:22-23 “if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel” 1 Thess 3:5-8 Paul says his labor would have been in vain if the Tempter had led them astray. Commends them for standing fast 2 Thess 2:3 - will be a falling away (apostasy in NASB) 1 Timothy 4:1 Spirit says they will be those who abandon the faith. They must have faith already in order to abandon it. 1 Tim 5:11-15 "away from Christ" abandoned their former faith, strayed after Satan" 2 Timothy 2:11-13 disown Him Hebrews 2:1-3 - neglect it, and you will drift away Hebrews 3:1-19 - holy brothers if they hold fast (v.6) and don't change from a believing heart to an unbelieving heart (v.12) Hebrews 4:6 and 11 - those who received the gospel failed to enter His rest because of disobedience. Hebrews 6:4-12 - is said to be controversial. Why? “impossible” (v.4) applies to those who are still living in sin, bearing “thorns and thistles” (v.8). They “are crucifying” not “was.” Has nothing to do with impossibility of “was” repentant sinner returning. Rom 11:24 says former believer can be grafted back in. Clearly stated again in 10:26-29, trample underfoot the Son of God, 10:32- “enlightened” is same as saved in context of passage. “Tasted” means saved as evidenced in 1 Peter 2:2-3. Hebrews 8:9 - They did not continue in the covenant so God disregarded them. Hebrews 10:14 - Christ perfects those who are being sanctified (implying that if you no longer are being sanctified, no dice) Hebrews 10:26-29 if we (Paul is speaking to believers) keep on sinning, no sacrifice for sins if believer continues in known sin, also clearly stated in another way in 38-39 - ‘righteous one’ is destroyed for shrinking back James 5: 19-20 brethren “wanders away” friend saves him from death 1 Peter 5:8-9 - Devil seeks Christians to devour and they must resist him. 2 Peter 2 - False prophets who were believers, still living among believers, and leading other believers astray. “bought them” (v.1) “feast with you” (v13 and 18) believers didn't feast w unbelievers or knowingly learn from them, escaped the world, but “again entangled” (20), knew it, but turned back (21), returned from washing (symbol of baptism) (22) If you read the context of this chapter, it is definitely saying you can leave the faith. 2 Peter 3:17 - carried away by sin and fall from your secure position or lose your stability 1 John 2:24-25 “if” 2 John v.8-9 (clearly speaking to believers) Jude 12 “twice dead?” only born again can die twice Rev 2:10-11 and 3:5, 20:15 Rev 22:19 Passages where elect/chosen are blotted out Exodus 32:32-33 Deut 9:14, 29:20 2 Kings 14:27 - Israel not blotted out, but later God does blot them through divorcing them (Jer 3:8) Psalm 69:28 - same book of life found in Rev 20:15 Psalm 109:13 Rev 3:5

That's exact that when someone is born of God, he will remain. God correct those who are his children (Heb. 12:5), when they needed to. If he doesn't do it for one, it looks bad for him. (Heb. 12:8). 1Cor 6:9-10 and Gal 5:21 forbids to think that someone living in sin will inherit the kingdom of God. Living in sin disproves the faith one pretend to have. Moreover, Jesus says that the ones who endure until the end are those who are going to be saved (Mat 24:13 as one example among many). 1John 3:9-10 says clearly than someone living in sin is deluding himself in thinking he is God's child, and that some victory is expected from those who are born of God. The first action of grace is the redeeming the sin, next one is to make one strong enough to overcome sin and be freed. Victory is the proof of his faith 1John 5:4. The grace of God is there to get some victory, and this is the main feat of his grace. Paul had some indications that among the Corinthians there were people not saved, as it was obvious by their actions (1 Co 15:34). For those who saw some light about the truth of the Gospel, but weren't born again yet, and go back to live as sinners again, there is a great danger to severe them irreversibly of the offer of the grace of God. (Heb 10:25-26). This is another way to see James 5:20, and 1Cor 5:5. For those who saw the truth, walk away from sin.

Yes. Sadly, what that means is that people are not trusting enough in what Jesus did for them at the Cross. They feel that they need to "help Jesus out" by adding their works to what Jesus has accomplished for them. They don't realize that by trusting in their works, they are lacking faith in Christ. Jesus doesn't need our help. God graces to us salvation. Grace is God doing for us what we cannot do ourselves. Grace is also God giving us what we do not deserve. By grace we have been saved through faith in Christ. We cannot do it ourselves. Someone asked Jesus how can we get saved. Jesus responded, "With man, this is impossible, but all things are possible with God" (Mat. 19:25-26). Salvation is impossible for us to achieve. Jesus did for us what we can never do ourselves. Salvation requires perfection. This is why salvation is impossible for man to achieve. James said that if we break one command then we are guilty of breaking them all.

@@stevelaupert7878 Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:8). Israel’s Sabbath is Saturday. Christians keep God’s Sabbath, not Israel’s Sabbath. Christians are spiritual Jews, not ethnic Jews. Exodus 31:17 specifically says that the Sabbath will be a sign between God and the Israelites forever. Moreover, God’s Sabbath is different than Israel’s. Israel’s Sabbath was modelled after God’s Sabbath. God’s Sabbath day, according to Ex. 20:8-11 and 31:12-17, is connected to His creation week. In Genesis 2:1-3, there is no evening and morning on the 7th day. This is the only day that there was no evening and morning. God entered His Sabbath, but never ended it. It is ongoing each day. God’s Sabbath is always Today, versus Israel’s Sabbath, which was a particular day. Christians observe God’s true Sabbaths by faith. Jews have missed the true Sabbath because they have rejected the Lord of the Sabbath. This was exactly the point of the author of Hebrews (Hebrews 4:1-11). Hebrews 4:3 says, “Now we who have believed enter that rest…” Believers in Christ, by faith, the moment you believe in Christ, enter into God’s Sabbath rest. Verse 7 says, “Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later He spoke through David, as was said before: “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” And verse 9 says, “There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God…” Christians are in God’s rest, but in order for Christians to experience it on a personal level, we must not harden our hearts and be obedient to His Word. Paul understood that the Sabbath was not a command for Christians. That is why he says in Romans 14:5, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.” Colossians 2:16-17 says, “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regards to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however is found in Christ.”

I was born again 45 years ago, the same year as Dr. Tour. I received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and my heart was forever changed. I have never doubted my salvation since then. I have gone my own way many times, yes, but God chastises me. And I have learned that there is no real satisfaction in the world, only in Christ. I have come to believe there are head Christians and heart Christians. Once you receive the Holy Spirit you are no longer motivated by fear of hell. You are motivated to follow Christ's example out of gratitude, the desire to please God and the leading of the Holy Spirit. You have become a new creation in Christ and His laws are written on your heart. If you worry that you may lose your salvation, it may be that you believe in the gospel intellectually but never truly submitted your heart to Christ. The indwelling of the HS is real, not just symbolic. You will know because the burden of sin will be lifted and you will have an inner peace that cannot be shaken. Romans 8:9-11 -- But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

What you're saying is true concerning regarding not feeling fearing hell but rather having a desire to follow Jesus, and it even could perhaps be true to some degree that a person is operating in their head and not their heart, *but this doesn't seem to apply the same way exclusively for every believer.* It has to do with their consciousness of sin and whether or not they're influenced in condemnation for whatever reason. Even David said in his haste "I am cut off" before he realized that God was not done with him, and we cannot say that David did not believe from his heart. It seems that the more a person lives a sanctified life and does not keep reestablishing the foundation of the remission of sins but continues to go on to a perfect man, This is the man who further develops his relationship with God and therefore ceases from living in fear of hell but is rather motivated through their love for Christ. However, a person can be at different stages of their walk with Christ throughout their life and can sometimes revert back into sins or back into stresses from the harshness of this life to return to a state of fear of those things as their motivation. Here's even a scripture that believers who were born again can lose their salvation: Hebrews 6:4-6 4¶For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

1. License is nothing but the promise of the absence of punishment. Sola Fide understood as freedom from punishment for anyone who merely believes is license. 2. When Paul says you are saved by faith he uses the word "faith" as shorthand for a bunch of things closely connected with faith. Otherwise to say "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved" would be as valid as saying "He that believes and watches Netflix shall be saved". 3. Faith working through love is not faith alone. At the very least it is faith + love + work. Note also James 2:24 4. If you don't think you can lose your salvation, what was Paul talking about when he said "I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified." Read Romans 8. If you don't believe you will not lose your salvation read it again this time with the understanding that those that are "In Christ" are children of God. God will not send His children to hell. What would Paul be disqualified from? From the ministry that God had given him. He would not be disqualified from eternal life.

License to sin is not scriptural. It was used by the early Lutherans criticizing the Catholics for thier use of indulgences. I have seen it misused on Romans 6:1,2. along with a few other verses. Very important Greek meanings of "in" and "sin". In is a place of existence and sin here is the nature of sin G266, not G264 the act of sinning. Look in the Greek text and you will see the similarity of the definition of the flesh and the sin. The nature of sin proceeds out of the flesh. We (our flesh) has been baptized INTO His death verse 3. Therefore our soul has been delivered into the righteousness of Christ. Romans 7:1-4 Paul is directing the same statement to the Jews continuing to follow the law of Moses. The woman is the soul. The husband is the flesh. If the husband be dead the woman is no longer bound to the Law of the husband (flesh) we (our soul) is now IN Christ! None of this back and forth crap based on if we sin or don't sin. We ARE sinners! Rescued from that severe penalty by faith in Him. We have been delivered my friend! The power of the cross!

The Sabbath was declared Holy by the Lord right after he created mankind, and Jesus said "the sabbath was made because of man" or "for man". I don't read anywhere , God Said that all days are holy. Holy means , separate, special in the spiritual sense. In the 10 commandmens he then says, "remember" to keep it holy. Jesus never changed that, and even rested in death on the sabbath. Why this teaching now, saying that He did not set the seventh day apart. That all days are equal, all days are holy. Can people support this from Scripture? Besides the Seventh day, there were Jewish Sabbaths too, like feasts. These were shaddows of things to come. This is not the 7th day of the week.

Need to get w King James. Whatever you are reading sounds to be written by intellectual idiots, fools who think themselves wise. Once saved always saved is 100% the gospel, if not salvation in part is on us and our works, and the Bible definitely does NOT teach this. Pretty simple, my salvation, my new birth is sealed, just like my original birth. I cannot be unborn from my parents, nor can I be unborn-again from God. I can though disobey my parents, yet I stay their child. It is the same with God, because my flesh is dead already and I am born new in the spirit. My New Man though, cannot sin, so it is no more I that sin, but sin that dwells in my members. It is so obviously what the Bible teaches that false converts are without excuse.

You quoted wrong. In John 15:7, Jesus said, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you." The rendering "remain" from the NIV is not an accurate rendition of the Greek word here. A more accurate rendering is the English word "abide." Abide means to hang out with. Jesus is not talking about salvation in this verse. He is saying that if we hang out in His presence and obey His words then he will grant our prayer requests.

@@brando3342 Discipleship is not salvation. All disciples are Christians, but not all Christians are disciples. To be a disciple, one must have a consistent pattern of obeying Christ. There are many who were once Christian who do fall away from Christ because they renounced the very faith that saved them to begin with. They call themselves "deconstructing from Christianity." These people no longer believe in Christ. This is what it means to fall away from Christ and into Hell. It is our faith that saves us, not our works. Read all the passages concerning final judgement - they all say we're judged by our works. Rom 2:6-8 and John 5:28,29 both say that eternal life hinges on our works. Is God not allowed to have criteria for bestowing His gracious gifts? People ASSUME that "saved" in Eph 2:8,9 refers to eternal life. If you believe it does (and I do not), then how do you explain the contradiction between Eph 2:8,9 and the other verses I mentioned above which explicitly tie eternal life to works?

The Law was a guardian until Christ (Gal 3:24). The Law was like a map to find Christ. Once the Christ is found the map is no longer needed. He has the GPS updated live, map is obsolete. Moreover, the Law was given to Israel (which in OT represented the whole world) to make it obvious that once fallen from perfection no human is capable to obtain life through his/her works. Only God's grace make it possible. The Law was the standard which only a perfect human could keep. After the fall, no human was born perfect so no human could keep the Law. Until Jesus. He was born perfect/sinless and He was able to keep the Law. And according to the promise given in Lev 18: 5 (and confirmed in Rom 10:5 ) He was resurrected by the Father. Thus, through Adam came imperfection/death while the balance was restored by Jesus (1 Cor 15).

The doctrine of degrees of heavenly reward is unscriptural and a stumbling point for christians. There are so many reasons for this but i'll touch on only a couple. First, a reward for a 'good work' implies something earned. So Jesus got your foot in the door, then your good works will get you better whatever in heaven, 'thanks big J, but i'll take over from here!' That's the equivalent of a trillionaire giving you all his money and a fully furnished 500,000sq foot flying yacht mansion, then you say 'thanks, that's great! But i'm getting a part time job so i can buy a new tv for the house. i want to contribute. ' Another question: ask yourself what a good work is. What could be a good work? Is it beyond what the bible might specifically say? Is making dinner for the kids a good work? what about helping the neighbour take out the garbage? cook for your wife at the expense of some activity? Are some works more reward worthy than others? Mormons have a reward system too: like, if you super duper you get a planet. What if you are really involved in church stuff and are doing all sorts of good works for the poor, but you have a thing for the pastor's wife and end up having an affair with her? Do those previous good works get cancelled out? How much bad stuff do you have to do to cancel the good works? Or can I do some more good stuff and catch up again? Don't catholics do this? What if you are doing lots of good things for some homeless organization, but gossip about what smelly jerks they are to your pals? What if you work for your church and serve it whole heartedly but it's pastor is teaching unscriptural doctrines and putting christians under bondage in some way, and you defend that? Are you really doing good work by supporting this sort of thing? This stuff happens ALL the time in churches. What if you serve the poor, build homes, teach in church, but treat your wife like garbage and oppress her? I've seen that often. What if you do ANYTHING that 's not by faith? That's sinful. Does that cancel out some good works? You said that the christian who goes downhill is best handed over to satan so his salvation is still intact, so that would imply that sins are still an issue, right? Right? Have you thought about how you are simultaneously contradicting yourself? The thief on the cross beside jesus was with jesus in paradise and yet he had no time for works. So will the ppl who die before getting that chance to 'work for jesus' get less reward in heaven? Any scripture for that? The point is, if you're going to get on the heavenly rewards bandwagon, you haven't thought it through... and i suggest to you that the verses you are using to support this idea do NOT mean what you think they do. God doesnt need your works, nor want them, and thinking you can earn any place above 'heir' with christ is the height of insult - just slap jesus in the face. Ie, works are for others, benefit others only, and come from the holy spirit inside you, "fruits of the holy spirit"....ie, not you. And being saved, ie, heirs with christ, ie a perfect new being, is the FULL reward of heaven.
