South has gone way way ahead in movie making. Be it realistic movies or mass masala movies, South has topped the game. Especially Malayalam movie industry. The kind of stories & scripts they come out with is out of the world. They have taken realistic movies to another league. Mass movie segment is not their forte, but for that South has Telugu, Tamil & even Kannada.

This nonsense of collectively grouping 4 entirely different & unrelated industries as 'south' is baffling.

It has been the same since 1940s in south. What way ahead, changed, these days 😂 the reality is that northies (especially filmmakers in north) have always disrespected south people, culture and films very mockery way- so that they can copy all films from south. It happened even im 60s, 70s and 80s too, not just now. The fortunate thing is that real quality and talent cant be hidden anymore in this hi speed internet age and the real colors of north cinema and south cinema have come out. Simple. Even Amitabh Bachchan's and Hindi TV channels top most film suryavansham is a remake of Tamil film Sooriya Vamsam in 90s itself 😅🙌 so, it has always been the same. You people started noticing, accepting, embracing the reality only after baahubali. Thats the reality. Soon people would understand there's a world beyond Hindi. 🙌

If you consider all bollywood directors as jokers, you are no different from a classist. Make sure you do not fall into the trap of believing that a movie is good because it comes from a South director. Example KGF. It is over rated. Its a cinematic experience but just that. And what exactly are we celebrating in that movie. A goon who becomes a mafia by continuing the path of illegal mining. Okay he beats up multiple people at once and loves his mom but an illegal activity is an illegal activity.

Very well said, in the 50s, 60s and 70s most of the makers were immigrants from Punjab etc. who had been pushed around by life and found their success thereafter. Even the masala films had a certain grounding. In the current crop, all are children and grandchildren of the former and have grown up in South Mumbai bungalows. How can you expect anything realistic and edgy from them.

Superb analysis...anurag ji... story, and story telling both seem better down south.. it's almost like bollywood is going thru idea paralysis.. stars won't bet on good stories.. studios busy making projects with stars.. South ka narrative style.. the clap traps in their scripts, their bgm, the hero swags... seem to have caught the hindi viewers fancy..masala films ka daur aa gaya hai again..
@vinaygautam-go5lj

The fancy masala takes you away from a pure sense of right and wrong. People like violence in masala movies will use it in real life believing they are the Heroes. I want to see a real reality instead of the twisted version of reality shown in both south and bollywood movies. When can I see a Hero that does not know how to beat men up but reaches the climax through non violent legal manner. He is nt naive but he doesnt use the broader good as an excuse to indulge in bs.

True! Movie makers from different walks of life get better opportunities in South. Malayalam and Tamil respect the content more than the stars and grandeur! Telugu industry is more like Bollywood only....controlled by big 1st generations but it's because they are aware that audience's expectations are grounded and more rooted in culture and traditions, they keep it down to that level and not peak it up to unrealistic posh worlds. Bollywood failed to keep it grounded that way, just because they have got good looks and extra opportunities to keep them connected to the western world they don't have to loose their roots here where they actually belong! Bollywood has slowly moved to their own virtual world!!

What is he trying to say ? Can someone Pl explain ?
@ssbhvs
@ssbhvs Жыл бұрын
He's saying in the south film industries, people who make films come from different cultures of life and have stories to tell. Whereas in Bollywood, the industry has mainly become family business and they only make films based on one formula and also they have easy lives which means they have not had exposures to a common man's life. Therefore when someone narrates something that is not in that formula, they don't appreciate the content and therefore don't make a film out of it.

Nothing new. Malayalam Movies were always the best. Rooted in reality, Unnecessary drama, glitz and glamour. Strong scripts, Stellar performances, perfectly narrated story line. The end result is a good film.

Because I think he has already spent that fire or expressed his voice to his limits. I highly doubt Kashyap can make another GOW level film. I think it’s time for him to nurture upcoming talents with his knowledge and experience. Plus, GOW was not his idea.

Bollywood is just suffering a crisis in sense of lack of few creative directors and writers. If another Qadir Khan like figure will arrive, the entertainment part in movies will return. At this moment, they are trying everything but entertainment is lacking. For majority of public, if a movie is not entertaining then what is the point to waste time and money. Even propagandas can only work if authentic work is entertaining.

Can anyone explain what he means when he said they have grown up in trial room?
@jithutube
@jithutube Жыл бұрын
It means, private rooms.. In different ways.. He means, - they have grown up within their film circle only.. - Their friends are mostly kin of other stars.. - Since they cannot live common life in Mumbai due to the attention they get from fans and media, they generally go to study abroad (by choice or force), and hence they don't experience and learn the common man's life in India. - They have to always travel in their secure vehicles, with some bodyguards.. etc. So, because of all these, they are not able to write stories related to common Indians.. They need some reference either from another Movie, or from a chapter in History, to make a movie..

Why always down south? Rubbish😡 On what basis people are referring down south since South is always UP and rocking in every aspects in terms of literacy, GDP, business, especially TAMIL movie industry? Don’t ever mention as down south… in fact everyone should address south as GREATER SOUTH 😊😊👍💪
