I personally feel like the wedding process is a personal thing. What you and your partner wants I the correct thing. I can't come and say you're wrong for doing things a certain way, that's not my love story to tell. Its beautiful that Martin loves you loudly, and wants it to be known that he is married. He said "I feel like people don't believe me when I tell them I'm married..." Sis, that's special, most men make women walk around with an engagement ring for 10 years, no lobola and they just a waste of time. Go buy that man a ring, surprise him with breakfast and just put the ring on his dish on the side something like "as long as you're happy, I'll always says yes to you". Then go shopping together for the actual wedding bands. I think sometimes we take away the enjoyment of the wedding process for the husband, this husband is intentional not only about you but also about enjoying the process and being a part of it.
