What is the computer needed for? All I see in the video it being possibly used for is to keep battery charged on phone.

You gotta need a pc or else you won't be able to boot into recovery mode. You can't just plug your phone to the power source, it won't work.

You may be able to replicate these steps if you connect your device to a wall charger, if not use your computer at work or borrow from a family member or friend.

It’s asking for PIN cause when u factory reset u had a gmail acct synced to the phone. In this case u need to enter ur old PIN or Google (gmail) acct and password to complete setup.

Choose the Gmail account option below the password. You can't opt to use the password because you don't know it. Only problem would be if your Gmail was not synced on phone
