For me the worst are buds 2 pro, bad driver, horrible anc, best fitting though. Second best are original buds pro, although they are also v shaped in tuning but the drivers are great. Give to keep only one, I would keep buds 3 pro paired with a galaxy phone.

odd that you (and others) found ANC to be less effective - i frequent datacenter environments where noise, beyond a minute or two, is unbearable, and the buds 3 pro are best in cancelling noise, by quite a bit - over the buds 2 pro and apple pro 2. i do agree on the V tune assessment, it's very unnatural - bassheads will enjoy them, and yes, the led strip is a fuckin gimmick. btw, 2 weeks ago i picked up your moondrop + crin dusk - what an amazing IEM, love it as much as my hisenior mega Fest (NOT the dsp cable / bullshit moondrop app though) - i use a dac / amp stack with a proper 2 pin cable and some EQ tuning. Im sensitive to too much treble, and i don't like overblown bass, but the bass is just good enough to not be muddy. ANC for me has been better than the galaxy buds pro 2 that i had. I struggle with ambient sound due to anxiety around people and noise, so the adaptive sound works flawlessly for me as a introverted guy this has been amazing helping me drown out just enough noise without moving out all of it. Seeing the frequency response is genuinely surprising to me because they sound much less harsh in the high end, to my ears, than the Buds 2 Pro did. The sound of which I absolutely adored other than said harshness. I'm happy with their sound, even though I usualy don't enjoy such deep V shapes. They're also just generally much more user friendly IMO. The buds 2 pro had an incredibly uncomfortable shape that started hurting my ears after a while and the touch controls where pretty shite too. The buds 3 pro aren't perfect but they're a massive improvement over their predecessors in those areas and the better sound isolation makes up for what they lack in ANC.

I'm so happy with my Galaxy Buds2 Pro that I bought two of them. Fantastic audio quality and great ANC performance for when I commute by bus 5 hours a day. Also LE Audio *with* the LC3 codec now works on Windows 11 with AX211 bluetooth 5.3 adapters, you just need to enable the Intel LE Audio driver in device manager and the latency is massively improved to around 11ms compared to SBC ~150ms and AAC ~250ms, and it now reports the battery percentage of each earbud separately. The mic functionality isn't ready yet although it probably will get substantially improved as well. I also find that there's a noticable improvement in audio quality between my windows 11 laptop and samsung galaxy s10 (with SSC and audio 'enhancing' features disabled), where the audio clarity is noticably better connected to my laptop and somewhat muffled on my phone

If you don't mind me asking, are your Buds2 Pro measurements based on the latest firmware or from your original measurement when the Buds2 Pro were first released? The B2P sounded terribly sibilant with extremely harsh treble in the later firmware versions. The older firmware had a MUCH different tune that was more balanced by a long shot, which aligns more with what you described in your original B2P review and in this review. A big reason why I personally like the Buds3 Pro's sound signature much better than the B2P is because the treble sounds more tamed and doesn't have the same sibilance when compared to the B2P, which seems to be the exact opposite of your experience.
@mugabugaYTАй бұрын
Yeah my Buds 2 Pro also started sounding far worse as time went on, I'm not sure if it's due to software updates causing changes or them just slowly breaking but after owning them for about a year and a half the bass just slowly started disappearing until it was left with just a completely tinny sound (equally in both earbuds so not water damage or something). Traded them in to Samsung and got the Buds 3 Pro for extremely cheap as a result and they sound so much better than my Buds 2 Pro did at the end of their life. I'm not alone in this either, a few people on Reddit have had the same exact thing happen and one guy even had it happen to 2 different pairs.
@makoto4341Ай бұрын
I noticed that regarding SQ too, but the EQ settings on the Samsung app fixed it for me. The one thing that got completely worse was the ANC. I remember that after an update ANC got wrecked for me last year and it never got better after that. There's a way of downgrading the firmware but i haven't tried that, i might do it when i eventually get a new pair.
@mugabugaYTАй бұрын
@@makoto4341 Ah yeah, mine were too far gone to fix with the EQ unfortunately. Not only did the ANC get messed up by the last update but the transparency mode got completely destroyed, any wind noise would put it into a mode that'd minimize the wind noise but also completely mute the sounds around me which made them useless for wearing outdoors if I needed to talk to anyone. Hopefully the Buds 3 Pro hold up better but time will trll

I downgraded mine to the VK3 software. That coupled up with apple music and the sound profile i set on my s23 gives me the best sound I've heard in a while in earbuds. Way ahead of the airpods pro 2 I can say. Only downside is the ANC performance isn't that good with the VK3 software as it is with the latest firmware but the sound tuning is so good I tend to see it compensates for that. I use the Buds Pro currently which were a free inclusion with a tablet purchase - I had the Sony XM4s which I much preferred for their comfort and much superior noise isolation and cancelling but had to retire them when the battery crapped out and they became way too expensive to repair for how relatively new they were at the time. My main gripe is the comfort so I'm curious what the newer models sound like and whether the overall comfort and seal have been improved.

@socool31 I would imagine, the EQ made a huge difference but that's just to what sounds best to my ear. I can't remember how the 2P sounds though because I accidentally washed my pair and got the XM5's 😅 I will say that I think they sound better than those though even with adjusting the EQ on the XM5's

Hey Crin, I'm a newbies in the iem world. Probably been like a month since I've been binge watching iem contents on KZbin. And obviously there's no way I would miss your channel. And after some "learning", it seems very clear that every content maker in this field have very different opinions and sound preferences. So, as a fan who loves your content, I'd love to know your most-preferred sound profile. So, if you were to choose one iem that you most prefer around the $300 price range, what would it be? (honestly, the price range doesn't matter as long as they are not hyper-price products)

I would love to see your take on the Sennheiser Momentum 4!! I own the 4, and I'm looking to expand from them to IEM with DAP. I'm considering Senn 900, Senn 600, or Theiaudio Monarch, or maybe Audeze iSine20. •-> I'd love to hear your opinion on Momentum 4 because it would bring context to me

I feel great now knowing that during the sales I was able to buy the Buds2 Pro's for both sister and mom, might pick some up for myself... I'm glad I made the right choice.

That last second of the video was the most important to be honest, I hope no one missed it by exiting the video.

I thought these earbuds were made out of plastic, not metal? I don’t know if it would be a good idea to make TWS earbuds out of metal. Either way, how come you don’t talk about the improvements to tuning that can be had via in-app EQ, presets, etc. (according to your preferences)? I understand you generally measure and talk about the default tuning but with TWS earbuds and all of the DSP available, I think this mindset should adapt and change. SoundGuys, for example, shows the “Clear” and “Balanced” EQ presets could be closer to what you prefer, especially the “Clear” one.

Aregina's follow-up video shows that the updated firmware (R630XXU0AXJ1) significantly improves low-end ANC resulting in an overall attenuation exceeding that of the buds 2 pro. Also, with ANC off and the "Adjust sound to fit" setting on, I find the bass (especially sub bass) far thinner than the buds 2 pro. With ANC On the bass is boosted closer to 2 pro levels. So my experience is the complete opposite of what you described here in almost every aspect. I'm using the Azla tips btw but sound is not significantly changed from stock tips.

I've actually really enjoyed the Buds3 Pro.

Do you think maybe the reason for worse ANC is about trying to detect Siren voices? and do you think it can be fixed with updates or by disabling Siren catcherish mode?
