This was Afterburner in space! Awesome game, played lots of it on the Mega Drive. Also, one of the best soundtracks of the era.

A fond memory from my childhood. At Disneyland, I would go on Star Tours, Space mountain, then Captain EO only to exit at the arcade where the full tilting Galaxy Force arcade, Full tilt Afterburner, and Super Thunderblade were there.
