Beautiful. It looks like you could drill a small hole in the bottom portion just big enough to get the lights through. Drill it high enough so that it avoids the threads in the cap. Then add the lights and fill the hole. Just a thought.

I did one that way as well, the insulation seemed about the same both ways. This style doesn’t stay as cold as other styles of cups it seems.

This cup.is.awesome. why not try drilling a hole in the lid 🤔 I'm going to try it and see how well it works with the wire. Just a thought, I agree drilling into the cup risks breaking the seal. You're the first I've seen with the notch. Now I need to play with the lid a bit.
@ThePurpleStitch3 жыл бұрын
The disadvantage of drilling through that bottom cap is how level the cup will be afterwards. If you figure out the best way of doing that, I’d love to hear!

An idea that you could probably try doing to get to the battery pack without damaging the wires every time you unscrew the bottom is drill a hole where the battery pack will be from the inside wall out wide enough just so your strand of Lights can fit through but drill it high enough that the bottom cap won't touch the wires and pinching It Off and after you drill your hole because you're drilling from the inside out sand down outside to smooth a bit and then after you strain your lights through the hole put some silicone or hot glue so that your epoxy won't go on the inside where the battery pack is at. I believe doing it this way will protect the wires from getting damaged from the straw holder unattached and attached again to the tumbler. It's worth a shot let me know what you think.
@ThePurpleStitch4 жыл бұрын
It definitely protects the wires but affects the integrity of the insulation. I have one now that is drilled and I’m doing a second ice test. I filled the hole around the wire with gorilla epoxy. The first test was only a half full test that I did at night. The ice was melted by morning. I did a full tumbler of ice last night and will be checking it in a few minutes. These tumblers are vacuum sealed to get the insulation that keeps drinks hot or cold for so long. 🙂
@tinawood59264 жыл бұрын
@@ThePurpleStitch how did that go? I gotta try one today and would really appreciate any more pointers. Thank you!
@ThePurpleStitch4 жыл бұрын
@@tinawood5926 I did a side by side comparison of the drilled one and this one. The ice melted almost the exact same. This style doesn’t seem to insulate as well in general it seems. I really was worried that breaking the seal would be a major issue. Apparently it’s the design in general. Still kept cold and didn’t sweat though. Just not 24 hours like some would.

The 2nd attempt: the battery pack fell off and stuck to another cup which pulled them both off their turners! Then the wires twisted until they broke. The 3 one was great all the way to the vinyl stage and the stupid battery pack had stopped working right!!
