This movie worths more than the entire series Discovery and Picard altogether. Eye candy, fun to watch, intelligent humour, some wisdom here and there. Such an utterly surprising film at the time. The cast was impeccable (great villain as well) Mathesar stole the show and whoever came up w/ inspired bits like "The Chompers" and in particular The Omega 13 (which by the end we've almost forgotten about) didn't get paid enough. This is a film that belongs not in a time capsule but on something like the next Voyager-type satellite.

the one thing that i am really disappointed with is, and i understand the reasoning, when they are under the ship and sigourney says "well screw that!", but in the original version shes says "F#$K" (as you can see from her mouth when they dub over it). that was probably one of the funniest scenes in ANY comic movie ever! not because of the phrase, but simply because that would be someones REAL reaction! this is a classic movie that i dont think gets enough credit.

I always thought this was just a clunker that stars sometimes do to get a bit of extra cash. Just use the star power for profit rather than spending on production values. It actually looks ok and the comments here seem to be very positive so I might give it a go. Also, Sigorney looked amazing at 50.

I think they ( Startrek series writers ) had this movie / spoof in the back of their minds when writing the part of the serie Startrek Enterprise where Archer and crew went into "The Expanse" to vind the Xindi. They had most of the looks and the bad attitude "projected" on the Xindi reptilian race, if not copied 1 on 1.

I should watch this movie. I've been looking for a movie I know is good while simultaneously knowing absolute nothing about it. This movie keeps sliding out of memory because I know so little about it I keep thinking it's Lost in Space.
