Considering Top Gun released in May of 1986 and Galaxy Rangers debuted in September 1986, I think you're giving the film to much credit for inspiration. You don't dash out a quality animated series in 4 months.

Yea, I remember watching this as a kid. If Kevin Feigie knows what's good for him, he should by this IP immediately. A Live action Galaxy Rangers movie, produced by the Russo brothers and directed by Taika Watiti is a sure billion that doesn't affect the MCU. It's got that 80's retro vibe. A band of misfits. Spaceships. Cowboys. Strong female characters. It's got a black nerd, who is also the comic relief . Funny aliens for Instant merch. Enough obscurity to be hip but not sacred to any army of rabid fanboys. It's Star Wars without the baggage. It's also quite patriotically American while being inclusive and diverse. It's "fast and furious" in space. It's got rock. It's got EDM.

This show came out when I was nine years-old, I loved it. It probably will never get rebooted because it was a stand alone show without any association with a bigger franchise so the mainstream fanfare and popularity just isn't there. 5:54 "-carries a small portable computer named Q-Ball-"... uh, the portable computer is called a CDU, or Computer Diagnostic Unit. Q-Ball is an actual character who is the brainiac in the goggles you had on-screen in other parts of the video. Ok. I will say it. There is no influence. One of the more important facts you didnt talk about was the fact that prior to the US release with the rock and roll anthems it has a limited release where it didn't do well. It really galls me to comment on any of these videos; because it helps the video, and encourages someone to keep turning out crappy realisations of great ideas. This one really disappointed me though. They dissed Mati on the Captain Planet and the Planeteers review. They demoted Captain Octavia from Tigersharks. Then whitewashed Mako by denying his Japanese heritage in that review. This time; whoever wrote this didn't even bother to watch the show. It's like they just uploaded a few clips and decided that no one would notice or care. Maybe this whole series is just to make Jackie Jennings looks bad. The laziness of stuff like this video series makes me glad they changed the name to Syfy; because they are clearly not Sci-Fi anymore.
