Yes, people have died from the virus, that is very true. However, not as many as you think and as for myself? Joking during the dark times is the way to keep me strong and to keep me going. So calling it the Blue Shadow Virus is awesome, it’s a way to get your mind off of the negativity.

I actually teared up a few times watching this. I’ve never been to Galaxy’s Edge. The plan had been since at least last year to go to Disneyland for my 35th birthday in January 2021. I wish I had gotten to experience it “normally” (was also going to visit Avengers Campus too.) I really wish our country had handled this situation better and that people would stop being selfish and would just wear a darn mask. 😞

It is partially thanks to you two that I now know and got TOTALLY STOKED about Savi's Workshop Lightsaber Building experience. Thank you! You and a couple of other KZbinrs brought it to my attention but I could only watch a small portion of your videos because I did not want too many spoilers for the experience. It quickly became a goal of mine to bring my boys out to Galaxy's Edge and build our own lightsabers together - me being a HUGE fan of Star Wars and my eldest son's birthday being May the 4th (I hit the bday jackpot there!) I am super bummed to see they have put the experience on hold for now. I really hope as things cool off they bring it back! I got some time anyway; my boys are too young to fully appreciate the experience yet. I am now a subscriber and really appreciate you, Peter and Kitra, for your channel in keeping us all up-to-date. Ok, I said on insta, I’m saying it here. Open Savi’s with a reduced capacity. Divide the workstations by plexiglass. Add video monitors, which you can link to an instructional video or a live chat like Zoom (Heck, make it FaceTime and get Apple to sponsor the interactive data pad). My wife had the idea of projecting the video onto the plexiglass to make it look like a hologram. There are options people! We need our Savi’s sabers. The cast could even say they have tightened security because the First Order is getting suspicious. 🤯

When I went on ROTR a few days ago, I was surprised to see a First Order officer get close to me and interrogate me about the Resistance base. I thought they would have to stay back but I really liked that. For Savi’s - you pay for to build one like before. You get your own QR code and can choose what group you want and then can build it via your phone. The cast member then gives you what you chose and then build it in person.

I think that's the problem. It's not about whether being at a Theme Park in isolation is safe, it's more about the trip in general. Disney being open attracts a lot of tourists to the area, local restaurants, stores, and public spaces have a generally poor adherence to basic public health measures (evident by their rapidly increasing infection rate).

Bright Suns! I went last week and as for an update here in Orlando, the parks have begun to get busy again and Galaxy's Edge was quite busy on a Saturday. Still social distancing and most shows and fireworks are still not happening. Rise of the Resistance was very busy and hard to get a reservation for, i got lucky, Smuggler's Run was most of the time atleast an hour long wait in line. It wasn;t bad and luckily the weather has gotten cooler here since it is the season. I went back in October and it was pretty bad with the mask and the heat and humidity. But overall, I guess we are lucky the park has been open already for a few months. Hopefully things get back to normal soon. Stay safe! May the force be with you!

I went this past week and it was great! Barely anyone around with the longest waits for lines was about 30 mins. Most rides were able to walk on. The limited crowds made a big difference in seeing everything. I did like the new way of doing rise of the resistance que and gave more chances if you missed the morning one. They had hand sanitizer everywhere and socially distanced everything. I felt really comfortable.

Absolutely agree with the gloves. Home Depot has some light duty mechanic gloves with palms that are entirely "rubber" and breathable back of hand. I wear at these stores and use sanitizer directly on the gloves. You can also use touchscreens. Walmart makes some football gloves with entire palm is vinyl with breathable backs. Great things about both these gloves are they breathable and very grippy!

Ok so here's my idea on they could've possibly reopened Savi's. Charge a little more for the experience, so that at the end of it they could give a bag and you could have the left over scrap from your build. That way they are not touching any unused parts. Have everyone wear gloves, and work into the story on why you have to wear them. Also limit the number of builders allowed in.

The day before Rise opened at Disney World, we were in Animal Kingdom. We had a trip planned for Disneyland end of June, and I was seriously debating whether I wanted to get up so early to ride it. In retrospect, I am so glad I decided to make my family wake up early and go. It was an awesome experience that we would never be able to have again.

I went last month. Was amazing and very safe. Savi's workshop is back thankfully with the custom sabers, not legacy Rise of the resistance only has 2 queue times, 7AM and 1PM. you do not need to be in the park to queue They now allow more people in the cars for Rise so you will be with more people. All shops are now open Overall, the restrictions are lifting little by little and they are allowing more.

My first experience on the ship, I was in the back. Everyone pushed to the front. It was the best place to watch the back window and see what was happening in the front. I stayed back there each time I went on the ride. =)

For Savis I think they should only let 5 groups in and give them all gloves as they enter. That way the gloves haven't touched anything before, and you can still make the saber. My family is going to Disneyland when it opens (to celebrate my senior year if high school and my brothers birthday) and I am bummed that you can't make your own sabers since I don't have one yet and I just bought a custom Kyber Crystal for it (from crafted cores) ... I guess if they don't open it by then I have to plan another trip mabey in a couple years.

We are due to fly from the Uk on December 16th and we really can’t decide if we should go or not. What do you guys think? This would be our second time but we don’t want a lesser experience 😞 Great content by the way!! 😀

It’s hard for us to give you advice on this. I would say first off don’t go unless you feel it would be safe for you. That’s a personal decision. But then I’d ask if the changes, does the good outweigh the bad?

Ordinary Adventures Thanks for the reply guys. I think the real worry is insurance. We have insurance but you can’t get cover for COVID. The cost of uninsured treatment if something were to happen would be astronomical. I think we are going to keep our fingers crossed that either a vaccine is found or there is no second wave! We miss Florida and we are desperate to visit galaxys edge! 🤞🤞🤞

With Savi's I agree with you, pick the parts from the list and the colour kyber and build it from there or if they couldn't build it there, they could place them into a nice bag and build outside possibly. But then looking at how droid depot has been worked, they could have done something similar and reworked how you touched items. They could do a queue system for the FO shop like the marketplace but not sure about the Resistance shops.

I’m guessing they also just can’t pay enough castmembers, which is why a lot of things are closed across the parks.

The Blue Shadow Virus is already canonical, but I think the fact that it kills everything it encounters and Batuu is a vestige for survivors would be really -dark-, but at the same time actually help to immerse you in the world experience as well.

I'm planning a trip to Disneyworld in Jan 2022 and the Savi's lightsaber build was number 1 on my list of things to do, so I'm hoping and praying that its back up and operating as before by the time i turn up there...

We still plan to go to WDW at the end of Sept, and we’ve made our reservation for each park...2 days to go to Galaxy’s Edge, and I really want to make a light saber! I think they could solve the problem at Savi’s by not only reducing the amount of people doing assembling, but have everyone hand sanitize, and then put on gloves just before getting your saber parts. You can toss your gloves after you exit with your saber. THIS IS THE WAY!

Crossing my fingers that by 2022 it will be safe again to go to Disney. I have yet to experience Galaxy's Edge and as someone who was 6 when the first movie came out I feel this was built for me and my generation that grew up on Star Wars back in the 70s.

I haven't even been on the Rise of Resistance ride yet. I went to Disneyland last year when I was there for SDCC, but the ride wasn't open yet. I took my daughter to DisneyWorld for Halloween, her favorite holiday, in October but she didn't want to go to Hollywood studios. We did the Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and Universal Studios for the haunted houses. Still hoping to get to Disneyworld for my 50th in April. Fingers Crossed for a vaccine!!!! 😁🤞
