Galaxy’s Edge Lightsabers Use Kyber Crystals To Work

Alright. Ima just explain how these work. The Kyber Crystals have a chip inside them, an RFID enabled chip. When you place the crystal, the lightsaber scans the chip and determines which color is placed. You can actually take these crystals and hack them with an RFID Reader/Writer, making them any color you want. No, they don't work with anything else, because it doesn't have the RFID chip inside it. Yes, you can program a random RFID chip and place it inside to make it any color you want, tbh you should look into this. With a RFID data transmitter, some buttons and an arduino, you can hack the lightsaber to make it any color you want on demand with the press of a button.

@@terpurculosis hacking is to make something do something it wasn't designed to do. It wasn't designed to be run without a kyber crystal, you can get around this with hardware. It's hardware hacking.

Going against what the thing is intended to do is an example of "Hacking". If you actually knew anything about hacking you'd know there's more than one form of hacking. Hell to some people even lockpicking is considered to be a distant form of hardware hacking because you're making the lock work without the key. THE LITERAL FIRST EXAMPLE OF HACKING WAS ON A PHYSICAL OBJECT BACK IN 1878.

Yes you can, I have one. It is a very heavy saber tho and I’m not sure how hard you can hit but it can withstand a beating. I’d recommend getting a saber off of sabers pro of something tho. The Disneyland sabers are kinda trash.

i wouldn't recommend If you are going to duel, do it while you still can go to Disneyland. Even though they say that it is playproof, it can still break. So if you left Disneyland, then I HIGHLY recommend that you don't duel with it.

Yes and no, really. For repeated casual play, it’s perfectly fine. It’s also fine if you want to play out movements and stunts without actually hitting anything. Rough play, absolutely not. I personally don’t risk dueling with mine, as the blade alone costs $45+. So they function as duel-able, but are really best kept for display. Also, if you plan on getting one with the intention of being able to switch out crystals in the future, don’t get a legacy saber. I know for some that’s obvious, but others don’t realize legacies are sold until they happen upon them and just assume they operate exactly like the workshop ones. In fairness, everything is the same between the two except the packaging and the ability to switch crystals.
