My s21 ultra zoomed in quite a bit more and better than my s22 ultra. My s22 ultra will focus closer than my s21 ultra. My s22 does stable better. All around I think my S21 was a better camera and took better pictures. Day or night.

I just "upgraded" to the s22 ultra from s21 ultra and I am disappointed with it. The s22 ultra at night looks terrible compared to the s21 ultra at times. I always get a fisheye effect around the edges which are always blurry and always needs to be cropped because of it. I do not get that soft edges on the s21 ultra. Also battery lasts half a day compared to my 1 year old s21 ultra which lasts all day sometimes from 6am to 12am I still have around 20% battery life and my s22 ultra dies around 6pm. I am returning the phone and keeping my s21U.

I am ALSO returning my s22U.... The s22 ultra camera is terrible. Bought it and started taking photos side by side... WOW what a huge disappointment. The photos are CONSIDERABLY better on the s21. The poor photo quality is best observed with either a.) up close macro shot, or b.) zoomed in between 15x to 100x. Everything has a blur to it.

Yeah I just upgraded and did some side by side photos and it looks like the software got better, because it's pretty much exactly the same as my s21 photos maybe a little bit better now, especially with zoom shots.

Please. do not upgrade your phone every year, you are not going to notice a difference. at least you need to wait 2-3 years till you start thinking about the upgrade.

It is advisable to go with S21U as the cameras are better compare to pixel also the chip exynos 2100 is far more powerful than pixel tensar chip which also made by samsung for couple of more years to come. You can go with it without any doubt.

Zero reasons to upgrade...all of above can be tweeked via software (only lens flare can't), question is...does samsung want's it?. If RAW sensor is unlocked for 3'rd party apps all those small things can be tweeked trought Gcam.

S22 shot of Wind surfer at 7:13 looks almost like a CPL filter in that the water reflections are almost completely damped. Lens coatings? Whatever it is, it is spectacular!

It completely ruined that image. Too smooth and un-natural. Their going to need that as a fix. Atleast with the s21 you get the waters detail and can use a app to smooth. S22 you can't add the detail and your only left with overly smooth. Hopefully next year's model is corrected.

I have tested today S22 Ultra (exynos) with my S21+ (exynos) with the daylight photos with sunny weather. I have impression that s21+ is taking sharper photos in every and each shoot on basic, standard camera mode and main lens. I dont think it is correct and I think future software updates should fix it.

Ultra sensor are bigger and lens are too bright, pruduces a shalow focus area that means its more dificult to have a "Sharp" photo. Thats why s21+ camera are sharper. I've had s21fe and ultra at same time, and indeed s21fe photos are sharper, but certainly not better.

For me S21 Ultra is way much better than the S22 Ultra. S21 Ultra is much more natural looking, the sharpening is normal not exagerated like in the S22 ultra, the shadow details is really a shadow looking not processed shadow. Samsung brings back the exagerated hdr effect of the S20 series which specially when taking selfies brings the dark shade of the details like when you have eyebags it emphasize it that makes you look like a zombie in a horror movie. I think S22 Ultra is a downgrade without the new chipset and S pen. It even copy the design of their ENTRY LEVEL phone last year the Galaxy A32 i think their twins, stick with the S21 Ultra its way much better and gonna save you some money.

Both look good. 22 should be better but daytime photos look better on 21. 22 is not that much better at night. Much prefer the shape of the 21 as the 22 is far too square to hold for a long time... I am totaly torn. s22 £1200 or renewed 21 for £600... really. 21 seems like a bargain,

Can someone please tell me how this is possible that not ONE tech reviewer has tested autoframes on nightvideo s22 ultra ? The new s22 ultrais crap compared to the s21 ultra. I have both and my s21 is way better. They really messed up the quality with the over sharpening. Atleast you can use de noise for noise but you can't take out overly sharpened objects. The warming also makes things that are off white or yellow like a orange color. In my opinion if you bought the s21 ultra and your looking to upgrade wait until next year. Wait for the fix from this current phone. Save your money and enjoy your s21 ultra :)

All these differences can be easily fixed in s21 ultra by providing camera software update. So Frankly speaking, there is really no huge difference between two phones. Only s pen is added

Not really. You can clearly see how much better quality in the physical material of the lenses are on the S22 Ultra's tele cameras. The colors of the S21's 3x and 10x zoom are all washed out, bokeh looks mushy, shadow areas are murky and bright spots have so much aberration. I've been using both phones and I say the tele lenses of the S22 Ultra is wayy better when it comes to the final image quality: sharpness, colors, bokeh rendering, OIS and contrast. Everything is so much better.

This is kinda bad. They just use oversharpening to make the photos look more high res but it give so much glitches. On my oppo find x3 pro i take photos and sometimes edit them on the phone and add sharpness. If i do that too much i get the same halos and glows on things as on photos on the s22 ultra! Not good at all. When do do not use oversharpening, the photos would maybe be alsmost the same as the s21 so they try to hide that

I returned my S22 Ultra since it appears that on the S22 front facing video in portrait video, they got rid of the wide angle. So I am keeping my S21 Ultra because it goes to wide screen on S21 Ultra on front facing in Portrait mode. Can anyone tell me if I am missing something? Just check and the s22u cannot change the angle of the shot in Portrait mode. but you can still crop the video to the wide screen aspect ratio in post.

It is the same lens just third gen with minor updates, a bit like the SD888 and SDX888+, not really new gen just update. I think since it came out things have moved on and maybe next year Samsung will use an all new and improved lens.

in the selfies I noticed a natural background blur on the S21 Ultra better than on the S22... can you confirm that? Has the front camera sensor changed? A mistake I noticed was that since the S20 Ultra the sensor is the same, 108MP, but it's not... it used the HM1 and on the S21 and 22 Ultra, it uses the HM3. At 4:00 on the left side of the photo, it's blurry on the S22, as in others you said, and I believe in most of the examples you brought. Maybe it's a defect of your S22 or a generalized post-processing bug, or even the lens with the new CLEAR technology. I think it's good to keep an eye on it! At night the S22 has less noise, making the photo cleaner in general, but it has flaws in sharpness, especially in the corners, and sometimes it has lower HDR than the S21, which I think is more consistent, although I believe that updates should make the S22 consistently better at night. On the Ultrawide, the S22 simply made the device more sensitive to the use of automatic night mode. The shots that the S21 used night mode were pretty much the same, with the advantage of Clear Lens coverage for the S22. Regarding the zoom cameras, there was undoubtedly a considerable advance in sharpness via post-processing in the S22, but two things I didn't like because of the new smaller telephoto sensors, is the reduction of background blur, and a slightly more dark. But overall the sharpness makes up for it. Congratulations on the excellent work, rich in details and scenarios!
