I remember at one point I wanted the 15 plus for the dynamic island. My friend has a 15 Plus and when he showed me the island's functionality, I felt like it was a gimmick. I say that because I have a Pixel 8 Pro and had a Pixel 7 before this, and both phones support multi app. The closest the iPhones come to that is a hovering video, and now I guess the island. But once he showed me what the dynamic island could do, I was underwhelmed lol. That island is permanent, when I want to access an app while using another, I'll just run the apps side by side. I feel like the island is just a watered down multi app alternative. I just feel like if the iPhones are as powerful as Apple says, why not just add the dual app option? Now that I think about it, Apple kinda ruined that possibility because imagine a secondary app running with that cut out just occupying space. After thinking, that island isn't as intuitive as initially thought....it's an inhibitor.

NFC isn't bad, but it's definitely not as prominent everywhere. The ultrasonic fingerprint though, is just as secure as Face ID and allows you virtually the same percs as Face ID. It's also under-display so, it really shines with not taking up screen relestate.
@alvarez32110 ай бұрын
@jordanjackson8873 yes I know that. That's why I didn't mention the security part. I specifically mentioned it's consistency. There's times where my fingerprint doesn't register the first time and I have to press longer. I even registered it 4 times. But I can admit face id on iphone works pretty flawlessly and I actually prefer it over the ultrasonic. I wish Samsung had both, that would be sick. As fR as the nfc, I've never had a problem being able to pay with samsung pay anywhere. But Apples chip is towards the top so it makes it so much faster to use.
@jordanjackson887310 ай бұрын
@calebalvarez1234 sounds like you have an optical fingerprint because I have the s23+ and s24+, and they both take 1 second to wake my phone with a single tap. Even with the screen off. Every year it was hard to justify the plus models for Samsung. Now it’s hard to justify the base S24. Still nevertheless a great phone. Android is better because it’s mimicking iOS, I used to be a strong android fanboy till the day I stopped caring about comparing the two OS’s because I realised that android (mainly from Samsungs side and I think Xiaomi) are not hiding the fact that they are trying to bring the iOS experience to android, i mean why else would they go to point of making it look so similar

Honestly the mimicking is getting out of hand😢😢😢 Only the ultra is different.

Anyone who thinks the S24 and S24+ competes with the Pro line is absolutely IGNORANT! S24 Ultra takes on both the Pro and Pro Max ONLY! Those same people just can't accept that Apple is falling behind sooooo bad! 😂😂

Quite the biased comparison, to be fair. Just re-watch the app relaunches phone by phone - you mentioned the iPhone apps that reloaded, but didn't say nothing about PUBG, Amazon and Instagram reloading on the Samsung. Not only that, but you didn't mention the number of times you had to make the gesture to close an app on the Samsung, nor how many times you accidentally swiped to another home screen instead of launching an app, which is again a frustrating experience. Also, it's obvious how the iPhone is smoother when changing lenses in the camera app, but you disregard this with "you won't notice it". I actually do and I swear this is one of the things I really enjoy about iPhones - the consistency. On the Samsung you get a 120hz display, which is awesome, animations look very smooth throughout the majority of the UI, and then you go ahead to take a photo, switch to the ultrawide, and it stutters like hell. This inconsistency really bugs me. I'm all for competition and where the Samsung is better than the iPhone, it's better, and that's good! But let's be real.

10:09 The swipe animations being “better” on the iPhone 15 is a lot like the face id difference. iPhone has prioritized one way of doing that thing and they’ve optimized it to be smoother than Galaxy. It seems that because the swipe from the bottom gestures is iPhone’s only true navigation method, they keep the swipe gesture bar there for long as well. On Android, use anywhere on either of the edges as a back button. In my opinion, as you get to use the Samsung, you naturally recognize when to use the back button to get out of games and other apps and when it’s convenient to use the swipe out gesture. Also, you can easily configure animation speeds on Samsung’s Android via Developer Settings…

How's the true tone display in the 24? and is the Instagram experience still buggy for creators when posting carousels?

I am not a Samsung fan, but I received this phone from work a month ago and have been using it as my daily driver. I have to say, I am very impressed. It is incredibly snappy and smooth, and it feels much lighter compared to an iPhone. While I will always be more of a Pixel fan, I think it's safe to say that the reasons for buying an iPhone are becoming less and less valid with each generation of new Android phones.

Just switched to a S24 from my iPhone 11. I really liked my iPhone and back in the time when I purchased it, I didn't see any alternative. But this time the S24 for me personally wins the race against the iPhone 15. Let's see if i can stay as long on the S24 as previously on my iPhone 11.

I disagree with the resale value talk. Not anymore since Samsung now beats Apple on the software update game. Even pixels now have great resale value. That 7 years OS/Security update is everything Samsung needed to draw many back into their fold.
@jamarplunkett32839 ай бұрын
Nah, you’re wrong. This is where your so called “Apple fan boi’s” pull their weight. iPhones have always had a higher resale value and still does because of the perceived value of it. Apple users would rather buy a Cheaper used iPhone, than switch to an android. Android users would rather buy a way cheaper brand than stick with their relatively expensive cheaper used Samsung. The world’s smartphone market is 75-80 percent android, the mere scarcity and exclusivity of the iPhone drives up its resale value.

I feel like nowadays, Apple doesnr really put that much effort in app opening speed cauz thatd already pretty fast, they're focusing on consistency now.

I really really like Samsung and I am happier with my S23 than I would be with an S24... BUT... look in minute 5:17 --> I hate it so much that some Apps still are not fully optimized on Android. Samsung has the best optimized apps in Android yes, and there are less apps like this, but It annoyes me EVERY TIME. How hard could it be to optimize their app for 6,1" ratio?! Cmon, every android phone has the SAME little punchhole on the front. Where is the problem?

Bro everyone's bragging about 60hz refresh rate while you have to scroll at least 2 times to get out of a damned portrait game or app in android and btw 8:24 samsung refreshed CAMERA A NATIVE SAMSUNG APP 8:47 INSTAGRAM yes INSTAGRAM AND 8:53 THE LITERAL CLOCK NATIVE SAMSUNG APP you just ignore it and talk about refresh rate AGAIN thats unprofessional and once iphone refreshes in some stupid third party game you notice it very fast(yes ebay and appstore too but 2 native and one third party app vs 2 native and one thirdparty game is not logical for me for a 6gb vs 8gb) anyways thank you for the video i would say and i'd recommend you to charge up the phones to 100 and full brightness test them so you can see which one has a better battery, samsung has more ram its unacceptable for me to see how it freezes apps that android meant to keep them open (pubg etc...) while iphone should freeze them but they are most of the time open. Apple has some false choices 8gb ram on premium laptops and 60hz refresh rate on phones nobody is doing anymore theres nothing new here we know all this and we should really condemn apple but you have to stick to the facts, with apple less is more.

I don’t agree with that the Android users for years will really really hate the iPhone that much, just choose the right device that fits your needs and your budget, I don’t think that the speed test like this will help someone who just wants to decide which device is suitable to them. there’s no rule that says or restrict you to use Android or iOS, Whenever many years of Android user can be switched to iOS and many years of iOS user can be switched to Android too. It’s just one your mind. It’s your money. Your device, if it’s not suited to you “Just find the finest yours” Like your other electronic appliances in your house, if you don’t like it “Just switch”
