Heather V. Crutchley Same!!!! I finally made the switch from my iPhone 7 Plus to the S8+ . Everything apple does is exactly the same, so boring - there's nothing you can do with the phone so there was no point. After having iPhone's for years it was definitely weird switching but there's so much more to do, way more freedom, and of course the screen on the S8+ is awesome. Even with the iPhone X it will have exactly the same crap as every other iPhone just with smaller bezels not even bezel-less, no fingerprint scanner, and facial recognition that doesn't work

I agree - It's actually ok, although I wish it to be a little less close to the camera, but after using it for only a couple days, I'm totally used to it. It might actually turn out to be at a better position (being a little higher) than the one on pixel 2. Because the one pixel 2 is so easy to reach and is so sensitive that when I was holding my phone in the pocket, it had actually locked out the phone because the pixel 2 was sensing other parts of my finger, and disabled the sensor after five mismatched scans.

Kryotic-Wolf Same !! I have an S8+ and I think the finger scanner is actually at the best place in case it has to be at the back. You can touch the scanner while holding the phone with the same hand (the left hand). If it was lower it would be harder and if it was at the front it would impossible. I had an S5 before and needed both hands, one holding the phone, one touching the sensor to unlock the phone so no, I don't think the sensor is better at the front. Plus a sensor at the front will get wet if it rains.

It's so ridiculously easy to reach I laughed in the T-Mobile store. I'm only 5'7" and locating the fingerprint scanner wasn't anywhere near an issue on either the S8 or the S8+. People just have to find something to complain about.

S8 seems like quite the upgrade from my S6 that has just given me trouble since day one. I like how the battery degradation has improved. I was told the S6 a year ago has a 78% remainder after a year of use. Plus after the note seven you are buying into better quality control.

@JDog Vids S8 has a new sensor (even if it has the same parameters as the old one) and they worked for a year to improve image processing. iPhone 7 doesn;t have optical zoom, 7+ has double camera setup , not with a zoom but with the second camera with a narrow field of view and very dark optics (unless it's a sunny day it zooms in using main camera).

I'm holding out for the S9. You just know that fingerprint scanner will be back on the front behind the screen on the S9, they wanted to do it on the S8 but just didn't have the time. And hopefully they'll go back to a matte rim and maybe even an aluminum back. That would be the ideal phone for me. Until then, my S7 is still going strong.

Why are reviewers so negative? You mentioned the dedicated button for Bixby and added your snidely comment, "not that anyone was asking for it". Asked for it or not, it's a brilliant addition to the device and does things no other phone assistant can do "in addition to still having Google Assistant". Other reviewers have put Bixby through its paces and it's absolutely brilliant. Imagine how useful it will be for the physically handicapped, helping them to change phone settings without needing to use their hands. As a non-physically handicapped person I'm dying to use it anyway when my S8+ arrives next week. Otherwise, great video with lots of useful information. Thanks for this.
