I wonder why they're changing up the design in the next iPhone because they low-key know Android OEMs are starting to eating up their asses. I use both ecosystems but after the Xiaomi Mi, LG G6, Galaxy S8 larger screen to body ratio, things are spicing up.

I don't necessarily agree on software. The Google ecosystem is fairly vast and things like Google photos, drive, calendar, and maps has become massively popular to the point where iOS users use them over there own defaults.

Ross MK I think it also depends on where you live, and what your social group uses. My whole network of friends and co-workers either use WhatsApp or Facebook messenger for group messages, and video call no matter wether they are iOS or Android. In terms of GarageBand anyone serious about music probably isn't recording on there phone, and for photo editing there loads of apps like Adobe Photoshop light, and Snapseed. I'm not saying the Google ecosystem is better I'm just saying they are more on par than people think.

Both these phones are great phones. I feel just cuz you like a phone doesn't mean you should hate the other one, I love iPhone but I also admit that galaxy is great as well, I feel if you want a smooth easy experience with raw power then the iPhone 7, but if you want a more customizable software with a nicer screen then I'd say galaxy, I wouldn't compare cameras because they are both good, galaxy saturates their photos but that's not necessarily bad, and iPhone give more natural true to life, it's all on opinion, but both are solid phones

Great video BTW! I am not an Apple fanboy by any means, but everyone needs to stop comparing design, size & speed and start thinking about day to day functionality. Having both phones in the Plus models, there is no doubt that the Samsung is faster, but I can say that the Apple just simply works and works well. Androids, you have to clear, wipe cache, memory, battery apps etc. Apple - No! Also, Apple's memory management is SO much better. Yes, the S8 works very well indeed, but everyone knows the longer you go - the slower it gets with Android/Samsung phones. Apple ecosystem is top notch and the day to day functionality (which is more important) goes to Apple. Yes, your S8 is beautifully crafted, but my Apple software is beautifully performing. It's the OS that makes the phone - not the design or even the specs overall.

Apple phones do get slowed down after some time as it does in Android phones. It gets laggy as hell. When that happens, the only way to make it faster is resetting it. Same as we do in Android. I agree that the RAM management in apple phones are good, but nowadays android phones are doing their best to solve RAM management issues.

You need to understand that these are two different markets here. Most people that buy android are developers or windows users that are used to that kind of an ecosystem. They want the specs, design, camera, and custom management. Apple is for people who want status or just want something that works. iOS just doesn't have the features that android has. Although I must say Apple is terribly overpriced. Slowing down isn't just an android thing. You'll easily notice that iOS will slow down with each app and update downloaded.

I REALLY like my new S8. it doesn't have the "Samsung lag" I experienced with the Note 7. and im so glad to be back on Android from my iPhone 6 plus. I always felt soo restricted on iOS. it's so weird to think that I used to absolutely hate Samsung hardware and software design but now they've won me over. I actually like Samsung's UI more than stock Android which is actually getting worse as they keep updating it. the only gripe I have with the S8 is that the front camera is reeeally poor in low light. it's very blurry but I can live with it since I don't take selfies when it's dark lol (it's great in regular light tho). otherwise it's an amazing phone and the fingerprint location issue is waaay overblown. it's still a "flaw" since it's not the best location but I've never had any issue with it since day one.

I have both phones and have used both phones. Obviously I think you are right on. I currently have the 8+ with 6.2 screen. It's more compact than the 7 plus. One big thing to me is the iPhone 7 and 7 plus stereo speakers on both ends (tapping into the phone speaker) is amazing and loud. the S8+ doesn't have that. I prefer the s8+ due to screen and size and rapid charge but prefer the 7+ speakers and camera. Good video

Okay so i am looking to buy a new phone tomorrow. I could get the iPhone 7 plus, the iPhone 8 out the galaxy s8 all four the same price. Which one is my best bet if I'm looking for camera quality, battery life, quality screen, water proofing, fast charging and good speakers? Thanks!

Literally the only reason I am keeping the iPhone 7 is because of FaceTime and iMessage lol my girlfriend goes to university in a different country so it just makes things easier, you nailed that part in the software part

The reason you think FaceTime is easier is probably because you haven't tried the other apps. They are literally just the same with different designs. If you're serious about the only reason you spend like $100 more on a phone is because of iMessage and FaceTime, then you are wasting your money because you do the same thing with Android just the same for cheaper. You didn't include a performance category because they'll both "work for multitasking whatever it is you're going to do"..? the s8's 4 gigs of ram can't keep 10 apps open in the background without having to reopen at least 1 of them while the 7 and 7 plus' 2 and 3 gigs of ram can keep tons of apps up and running including heavy games/apps and graphic intensive games with almost no(or no) sign of slowing down

The biggest downfall of Samsung S8 is the Android... no matter how beautiful they'll gonna make it or how many features they have I'll still prefer the flawless iOS and Apples Eco System. Everything just works and everything is connected with one another Computer, iPad, Watch, Pencil and handoff i can do whatever i want on my phone or ipad and continued on my laptop where i left it with no actions needed and vice versa. Just feels way more stable and efficient where Android falls on that despite the features and customization options its just topped with another UI feels kinky unstable and less optimized.... cuz you know Google can't optimize Android for every phone hardware... it's impossible! Plus Samsung removed so many "Great" features from the Galaxy line cuz yeah they are "cool" but nobody ever used them... Apple put features they are less but they matter and we use them on daily basis cuz they are actually useful and they push the features when its fully optimized and ready to work properly where Samsung just rush to drop it then you deal with bugs and hundreds of fail attempts... I had S5 and S6 i was amazed at the very start but.... as i said lots of lags, crash apps, viruses from 3rd party apps no protection from malware or what so ever. I hope they'll get better on this section by the ill stick with apple! P.S Just my opinion guys dont wanna start a war here 😂 Just my opinion! 😊

Christopher Eon Totally wrong. If you need functionality, android is clear winner. It's like a PC in your hand. IOS is restricted - and most of the time annoying for me. I guess its upto personal preference in the end.

I think it's a fair comparison except for the fact that he did seem to miss a ton of stuff in the "intangibles" category for the iPhone... the iPhone has so much more in the intangibles category which none of it was mentioned and it should've definitely been far closer to choose between S8 and iPhone for that category imo. Other categories I do agree with though haha both are great phones

iPhone camera is NOT better then the s8. most people will choose clear pictures over warm pictures anyday. also, you say that Apple has better software. if this is so, why is it that every freaking iPhone I've ever seen turns to crap within 6 months (as in I mean they start lagging alot, get alot slower and have big problems loading videos)

It's not just the number or categories that a phone wins, those categories should be weighted for importance to use. What's difficult though is the weighting will vary for different people. Maybe you could do a survey of your subscribers to find out the average weighting variance for phone feature categories. Good vid though, thanks Jon.

Love the video and I agree with the overall result. However, I think you have to include the fingerprint placement as part of design. I don't know if that flips design to iphone or keeps it on the s8, but in my book that should be included in the design category.

I know fast charging was talked about for batter but shouldn't the test be more on how they last on a average day of usage without going back and forth to charge. I think that would show more on design and optimization.
