Galaxy Watch 3 on iPhone usage

In this video I demonstrate a usage of the Galaxy Watch 3 and what you can do with it and its limitations while using an iPhone.

when I had my iPhone 6s Plus, I was able to get text messages from that phone to my galaxy watch......now I have an iPhone 12 Pro max....I cannot receive text messages to the same galaxy watch.....I do have the galaxy wearable app downloaded on the iPhone. It shows me notifications from my ring, messenger from fb, and others except my actual text messages. I must have something turned off that I don't know about

This have a conundrum. I prefer iPhone over android, however I prefer the look of the Samsung watch over iOS watch. I find the style of the Samsung far more appealing than Apple. Any recommendations?

Maybe wait for the new watch collaboration between Samsung and Google for the new pixel watch. Honestly if you want to take calls, text, track fitness and all that is important to you apple watch definitely. However if you just care about the looks and don't missing some features like the ECG for lack of Samsung device go for the Galaxy watch

@@TamimTech22 honestly I love the smart Tag watch but I think the Samsung is probably the best alternative. I wish Apple weren’t so petty and allowed other brands to use iOS system 😠

I agree!! I would have kept my Samsung watch if I was allowed to text and call with it and had great third party app integration but sadly it didn't play well for me

If I remember correctly I think it stayed on the watch after initially setting up on the galaxy phone but if you set it up again on the iPhone it will go away

I need to replace my Fitbit versa2 (the hardware is incredible crap IMHO, breaks every 6 months or so) and will most likely go for the Galaxy Watch 3. Will share if I come across any major breakthroughs :-)

Does the fall detection work with the transfer of Apple 12to galaxy 3, and also can you tell me what unlocked LTE means? This was a great video and help me out a lot, thank you. Also I understand there was an update to the galaxy three that added the fall detection and the I think it was blood pressure, would I be able to download that update also? I don’t have the watch anymore. I’m not sure if there have been updates since this video to allow the Galaxy watch to have those feature implemented with iOS. I know it’s very limited on iOS and a lot of features are omitted.

So here is what i need Making calls and answering them, tons of watch faces, good display, receiving regular notifications, being able to reply to them like whatsapp mssges and use bixby to make calls Will this be able to do it all with an iPhone 11?

With an iPhone no you will not be able to do all that you will be limited. No phone calls or texting due to iOS not allowing you to do that. You can just read the messages.

I don't see why it shouldn't since the lte version will have its own chip it'll be the same experience just with lte so you'll still be limited

will i lose my galaxy watch faces if i pair with my new iPhone? i have custom rolex, timex & citizen faces that i do not want to lose unpairing from my note 9. i attempted to hard backup the faces using galaxy watch studio software on the computer but can’t seem to upload the watch face .gwd file to the software. any tips before i go ahead & plunge into pairing with iPhone?

Is there any way we can check daily calories burn on through this watch/apps? I’m using iPhone btw. There’s nothing much to see on Samsung Health apps. So disappointing that I can’t even see previous days histories 💔

I believe you should be able to see your history through Samsung health it should have synced over from your Samsung account. Let me look into it and comment back to you. It's been awhile since I had the watch with my iPhone

You will get less info than Fitbit for sure. Fitbit has offers more metrics with breathing rate, hrv, sleep stages, resting heart rate and such

I honestly didn't like fitbits heart rate sensor for high intensity workouts or weight lifting it has a really bad lag and doesn't pick up when your heart rate jumps up in between sets

well I know its late time comment but I got my watch 3 with my iPhone 11 and I have to say I have a delay in receiving notification from watch when I have notification from my iPhone … I receive it on watch after like minute or more idw if there something I did wrong but I got all apps and latest version and when I talked to Samsung CS they told me to do a reset from the app and if he problem still exist i should visit their branch so is there anything I can change to fix this ???

I just don't think they work well with iphones on purpose. Samsung is trying to get people who use iphones to switch to their products to the point they are making their devices as compatible with iphones like they used to. Just like when the the Galaxy buds pro were not available in the Samsung wear app for iOS I think that is the real issue in my opinion it sucks honestly I wish all hardware and software could work well no matter what the brand is

It does not unfortunately. Unless there was an update since this video. But I'm pretty sure you need a Samsung phone to use the ECG. Talk about Samsung pulling an apple move

It works on iPhone just with very limited functionality. Blood oxygen works. Texting doesn't work. You view it but can't respond I think calls still work from what I remember. But the ECG only works with Samsung because you need the Samsung health app which only available in the Samsung store

The only thing you lose on any Android that's not a Samsung is ECG. I'm not sure if Samsung pushed out an update to resolve that yet. But last I checked it was exclusive for Samsung phones to use the ECG feature
