I believe the water lock function is just turning off the screens touch function while in presence of water then when you're ready to use your watch outside of water you turn it off and it ejects the water. I dont think the lock does anything to protect the watch lol I am getting this watch in a couple days so ill let you know.

This watch does not take hours to charge lol. Use any 2 amp USB and it charges just fine...

My watch 3 Classic died after getting wet. I went for a swim at the beach and it failed 😞. I expected a watch rated for 5atm to handle a swim. Very disappointed.

Electricuted by a watch??? Come on people you can't get electricuted by a watch even if the charging port touches you because the voltage is too low... High voltage electricutes... Not high amperage or anything like this. Please get informed many people have confusion on this... Also be careful with electricity with high voltage because even if you don't touch the source the current can jump through air cause of high voltage

Well yes and no Its the amps that kill, not the voltage You only need 0,2 amps for it to become fatal But due to the high risistanse in your body (around 100000 ohms on average) You need a high voltage for it to pass trough your skin

@@joeyr8740 @Joey R that's why I say it's the volts that kill, 0.2 amps is basically nothing very small, because if I'm assuming correctly every day to day electronic that you use with above 25 volts has more than 0.2 amps (I don't think 25 volts are enough to kill, maybe above 60 70 idk). Though I agree on a technical level for the average person to be safe they should always avoid high voltages

i have the first galaxy watch and the active 2 which i used in water swimming activities in my house pool and both of them have hold the claim of being ip68. this galaxy 3 did not hold even just one swimming time after just 3 weeks of ownership. send it to Samsung care and they won't honor the warranty and want me to pay 220 for the repair. if you're planning to use it on water like swimming i would not recommend to buy it. update: received the watch from the repair center and the back cover of the watch was broken, 3 of the 4 holes that keep it on please where broken. and was hanging by the cable from the sensor attached to the main board on the case.

What did you end up doing with the Watch? I had the same problem, just from rinsing under water a few times. The home button stopped working or would make intermittent contact on its own, and would keep activating bixby. What symptoms did you'd have?

@@anthonybonetti4305 No, I sent it into Samsung under warranty. I would have fixed it myself but I couldn't find the home button part at the time. Samsung's contracted repair center of course denied the claim and said they found water damage. I never even went in the pool with it, let a lone exceeded the rated water depth. So after getting the run around, I eventually just put in a BBB report, and was able to get it fixed.

I kinda see how theres no need to upgrade but the swimproofing is so tempting since the gear s3 isnt and so itll be less prone to damage plus the storage also samsung offers 200$ off the watch if u trade in the gear s3

Yep I just traded my old galaxy watch for another galaxy watch 3. At the end i paid 185 plus tax. But yes, no need to upgrade. And maybe I'm bias but the old watch looks better. I like big watches though

The watch is worth the upgrade from the gear s3. I held on to the gear s3 because of the MST support but it seems like everywhere now offers nfc payment.

If you turn water lock off while the watch is on your hand, you can feel it spitting water. I only activate water lock because sometimes it goes berserk when taking showers with it (senses droplets of water on display like actual inputs from a finger)

Trust all the negative comments on this samsung watch because it is true. Especially the warranty by samsung ( does not cover water damage). But so proud about their products that doesn't live to its expectations. If you try sending it to samsung for repair good luck

Don't trust it, I had it in waterlock mode and went into a 4 foot deep pool, Watch went unresponsive and couldn't take out of water mode. Threw it on the charger, It overheated then went completely dead. Samsung warranty??? HAHA Was on the phone with "Jay" For 73 minutes waiting for a supervisor because "Jay" told me that water damage is not covered by the warranty. Supervisor never came on the phone. Watch is still dead. I wouldn't trust sneezing on this watch.

1. u need to press the bottom button for a couple of second to get it out of water mode 2. its pretty normal that it gets hot if you charge it and 3. to turn it on you have to press both buttons for a couple of seconds

i shower every day with it to track how long i am im in the cold shower with a stopwatch installed on the app, even with soap i never had a problem, waterlock only makes the touchpad not to react if something falls on it "obviously water so you dont make any unnecessary calls etc."
