I had the watch 4 for a little while, and it is a great watch with great feature, but i really don’t see any difference that much to get the watch 5 over the 4! As an average consumer, i would buy the 4 for it would be a better price over the 5 with money towards other things to spare!

I traded my Watch 4 44mm for the Watch 5, which came bundled with the duo charger on Samsung trade in. Only paid $160.00. Much faster charging, at least 30% longer battery, and I find the accuracy of the heart rate monitoring and sleep tracking to be significantly more accurate.

How do you find the vibrator motor? I had to return the watch 4 because i found it too weak and was missing alarm and text message vibrations at work when my phone is on silent and i had it on the strongest setting. Do you find the vibration is same or stronger on the watch 5?

I used to be against smartwatches, but since finding a job that requires me to not have my phone, I had to start looking into buying a watch to still be able to keep up with all of my appointments and things. Got a sweet deal from Samsung on a new phone AND watch, and after watching this review, I'm excited! I really need something to keep me on track and top of everything without always having to pull out my phone every 30 seconds.

Same here! It's just so damn useful having all your appointments on your watch and if you just get the BT version and don't connect it to your phone, then you can also avoid being on your phone and/or available 24/7.

If the sapphire on a watch like that is hit hard enough to shatter, you have much bigger things to worry about like losing your hand. I've had a lot of old school watches, and have tested the shock resistantance of sapphire, like dropping a sapphire lens watch facedown on concrete, to even throwing it - no damage to the crystal.

I enjoyed your honest review. I also had the 4 version and now have the 5. I did however get the bigger size in both. I have noticed the upgrade in the fit for the sensors. My 4 was being hit and miss just monitoring my heart rate and now its fine. Hardly ever skips a beat. The upgrade in battery and charging speed made me just, and only just, feel like the upgrade was worth it. The bigger size gets nearly 2 days on a single charge which is a big improvement. Like you I do wish the skin temperature sensor was active at launch. Only reason I can think of is that its yet to be approved as a health metric in all the various countries. Once it is I think it will be active. I can't wait to try it out.

I upgraded to the GW5P from a Fitbit Sense on day 1 of release. Big upgrade from fitbit with bioelectrical body analysis, blood pressure (with a hack as I am in the US), and watch apps. My wrist circumference is 8 inches so the Pro model isn't too bad. Love it so far. It's a bit inconsistent with auto detection of exercise, using body temperature and sleep patterns (keeps thinking my bedtime is 10pm). The Fitbit Sense was better in those tasks, but these are minor complaints. All my devices are now Samsung .

HI, great video. There is one physical difference that Samsung made between the Watch 4 for and the Watch 5. They moved the microphone from the backside bottom, to the front between the buttons. This was a big thing for me, because my meaty arm would cover the microphone and my callers could not hear me. That plus the great deal that I got from Samsung during Prime days ($83 + trade-in). It was well worth it for me.

If you're looking for something big and bold, definitely go for the watch 5 pro. It's gorgeous and not as big as people make it out to be. I am coming from the watch 4 classic and it's much lighter than that was. The battery life..... lasts about 2.5 times longer than my watch 4 classic. I just charged it after going 3 days 10 hours (5% battery left) with AOD on, heart rate every 10 minutes, NFC on, and no change in use compared to how I used my watch 4.
