And actually it has kind of an undertone to it - the playground was built by Hephaestus to take revenge on Ares and Aphrodite - and the song says: "What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more" Since it was built to catch Ares and Aphrodite, it has more of a stinger to it, if you think about it.

Omg you two are too cute. I loved the clip at the end. Also you're so right that Ares was perffectly cast. Everyone has been so far. They also did a great job at showing Percy and Annabeth becoming actually close friends, just like how they were in the books. Love it. I love a friendship to romance trope. Can't believe season one is almost over. But can't wait to be back next week for more of the real life Perabeth; aka you and Luke :)

Oh yeah that's a fun one!!! It's when things really begin to pick up in a major way, it's the first full book with a resurrected Thalia Grace AND also it introduces Nico di Angelo, the son of Hades and a major recurring/main character in the series. He got his own book last year actually with only a small cameo by Percy and Annabeth.

ngl i’m feeling a little conflicted about the show. while i did like them giving grover his moment with ares, i would have preferred if the amusement park scene was with all three of them simply to show their team work as a trio. i feel like most of the episodes it’s just annabeth and percy doing the important stuff and grover is just there. it feels very heavily focused on the two of them and i think it would be nice if they for once pushed the narrative that they’re actually a good team together. every important scene i can remember, grover didn’t really have any input, it was mostly just annabeth and percy talking. idk thoug, maybe i’m just a little thrown off as grover had more moments in the book.

I loved this episode so much because we got more into how the gods really are and this series has made me an Annabeth and Grover fan because the films ruined these characters for me so when I read the book after the watching the film I didn’t like Annabeth, Grover, Luke, Tyson, Ares, Aphrodite, and Hephaestus. 😊

Well that whole thing with the throne was NOT how it went in the book!!! They got attacked by mechanical spiders, Percy used his water powers to push them to safety and they got catapulted over a gate by a boat crash and Grover had to save them from it.

If he does, he's wrong. Clarisse can be a bit of a jerk and a bully, but she's actually not evil, she's just got a bad attitude at times. Percy actually DID suspect Clarisse briefly, but he was wrong. Those 2 have their differences over the years, but Clarisse is loyal to Camp Half-Blood and one of Percy's most powerful allies.

Yeah, the whole trap thing is drastically changed from the books, but even there Hephaestus is actually a pretty decent god. The really good ones are Hephaestus, Hermes, Artemis, Apollo (who gets his own 5 books) and Poseidon. Athena's a TERRIBLE mother, Zeus just really doesn't care about anything but his own power, Hera's a... witch (not the word I want to use), Ares is a major jerk, Demeter is mostly just indifferent and while Aphrodite isn't too bad, she's not really that great either. Hades is actually really not that bad either as it turns out, but he can be a real jerk at times.

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the changes from the book like I was to a lot of the changes they've made so far, the plot from the book of the action sequence at the water park was a perfect team effort between Percy Annabeth and Grover, and they missed out on that, instead they replaced the cool ropes/nets and mechanical spiders with that weird trap chair that Annabeth convinced Hephaestus (who isn't supposed to be there) to unlock with the power of ~friendship~, and they nerfed Percy's power when he didn't start the whole ride and just whisked Annabeth toward him (which they also cut away from all the action in that part too) I didn't like that compared to their quick wittedness and trust in each other during the book's sequence, where they all contributed to getting the shield and getting out safe. also the grover/ares scenes weren't that great for me and are sorta spoiling the twist of Ares turning out to be one of the main big bads by putting too much suspicion onto him too soon, I also missed Percy's anger fueled interactions with Ares (in the books Annabeth and Grover are both smart enough to keep quiet and shoot Percy countless death glares for his behavior/words) looking at this plot path they took in comparison to the books, it lacks the compelling action, smart choices, and character building that the book had in exchange for a slow moving plot where their problems had to be solved for them instead of showing their tact and teamwork building

The Ares part its alright and they changed Grover making him more useful and smart than the book. But they kill Ephaestus trap made to shame Aphrodite and Ares encounter where supposed to Percy and Annabeth take their places. Grove participation at this saving both flying with Luke tennis got missed. Fellows... I don't know what they are doing, but three episodes hrdly will cover Lotus Casinos, Los Angelis, Underworld, Ares Battle, Olympus and Luke. Meaning... Yeah I think they will change everything and f up the book story like the movie did. I have to tell that Riordan presence did not save AGAIN his own work that instead of a fantasy story becomes a soup opera. Such a pity...
