Tunze. I was going to get the Flipper but saw a lot of comments online about it scratching the glass. I know that can happen with any scraper. But as I said a lot of comments! I got the Tunze long which suits the glass thickness in my tank. It now comes with the floats, a steel blade and two sets of plastic blades as standard. It also comes with different colour attachments to customise. No interest! I also bought extra steel blades as I had a stubborn form of spot algae (freshwater) that even a razor blade was having trouble removing. I wasted my money... The standard plastic blades removed it in one or two sweeps. I'm sure for saltwater the steel blade will come in handy.

Love my Tunze, coral close to the glass so it being thin helps. I agree it looks like all of these would work great, you cant really go wrong

While these all seemed to work great, I have found that they don't all scale in size with effectiveness. For instance for all the glory the Flipper got, the nano tank version really doesn't seem to work as well all things considered, ditto with the Tunze nano magnet, I mean that thing was way smaller than I thought too and it only comes with a plastic blade so yeah...
@GalleryAquaticaTV3 жыл бұрын
I agree, I realised after we started the competition that it could never be totally fair. I had hoped to show the advantages and disadvantages of each brand, but to say everything would have made for video too long to enjoy.

@@GalleryAquaticaTV Oh no worries. I think any of those 3 magnets would be fine for larger tanks with glass closer to the 1/2" thickness mark. I'm actually surprised the MagFloat did so well, I always thought of that one as a "meh" magnetic cleaner, but guess I never used with the scraper attachment.
@richardportelli19833 жыл бұрын
Magfloats are also great at scratching glass when sand or critters get stuck on the pad.

I wanted to have something to do with glass safety as a criteria for the game, but it just wasn’t practical. Tunze probably is the safest with the glass. Cam

@GalleryAquaticaTV2 жыл бұрын
Probably best to stick to a normal (hand-held) scourer if it’s glass, and if it’s acrylic we sell “magic eraser” pads that work great on algae and won’t scratch acrylic. Cam
