I let my children listen to songs about desperation and suicide as long as they censor the naughty words.
@LewisTaglialavore10 жыл бұрын
In my opinion bad words are used in so many songs nowadays it isnt worth hiding it from your kids so as long as they arnt repeating them it wouldnt bother me. Sounds like they have good taste though ;)
@Alex05199310 жыл бұрын
Lewis Taglialavore LOL but thats the point. They do repeat them. Its up to the parents to set an example. We all swear casually these days. As long as you know when it isn't acceptable to swear and where it is more acceptable then that should be okay, and this should be taught by parents. Thing is these days, the media plays a huge role in how kids are raised seeing as a lot of stupid parents sit their kids in front of a tv/ smart phone etc. and let them raise themselves.

Joe Yeates Metal originated from hardcore punk and punk rock bands so before any of these metalheads even knew what metal was punk rock was the most brutal before metal even existed
@samarnold18397 жыл бұрын
uhhhh no it did not originate from hardcore punk, hardcore punk is fairly new in comparison to metal. metal definitely did get influence fromPUNK as well as multiple other genres including jazz and the blues, but it did NOT originate from HARDCOREpunk
@matthiasvanbrussel59716 жыл бұрын
I hope you realise that thrash metal bands like Slayer for example (who influenced the whole metal scene after) drew major influence from hardcore bands right? You are right that the old metal like Black Sabbath wasn't influenced by hardcore but eveyrthing that came after Slayer, Metallica etc and was influenced by thrash metal is essentially influenced by hardcore punk.

Was Frank a major part of Gallows? Most say he was the biggest part. I saw them live a few months ago and Wade put every ounce of sweat and heart into his performance. Did it sound like Frank? No where near it, BUT it was one of the best performances I have ever seen. Played in the crowd just like the old Gallows. People went nuts knocking down the barricade to the stage. That's what Gallows truly stands for. They will always be my favorite no matter how many line up changes they go through.

Gallows were my pick of Sonisphere, caught them by accident and thought 'who the hell are these guys!?' stayed for the duration and was mesmerised. They were everything a punk band should be - angry, pissed off & playing if their lives depended on it. Had to go back and tell all my mates after Sonisphere. Am honoured to have seen them. Gav the 40 year old.

I'm a Brit who's lived in Canada for the last 6 years and I've seen so much about this band on my mates facebook pages but never thought to listen to them as i thought they'd just be another cookie cutter hardcore band. I can see from the first 2 lines of this song why this band is so popular. Because he actually keeps his accent when he sings. unlike every other British hardcore band out there that just try to sound American.

At the time of this record, Gallows were at the top of their art. They had become one of my favourite bands then. Epic videos like this one only supported the overall great image. They should not have parted ways with their singer. The selftitled follow-up to "Grey Britain" was a very good record, too, but after that the remaining Gallows guys could not reach that quality anymore. I'm still hoping for a reunion with Frank Carter one day.

It's just hard to accept the fact that Frank is gone and someone from a band that plays entirely different music is taking up that position. People like Frank can't be replaced. He poured his heart and soul into his music to get his point across. I'm not a huge fan of Wade to be honest but if you are then that's respectable.
