This is my childhood. Instead of listening to pop music, I would stick a tape deck in front of my TV so that I could record my favourite C64 soundtracks. Choosing which C64 track is my favourite out of Commando or Rambo is like asking me which of my children is my favourite. Fortunately I only have one child, but there are too many amazing C64 soundtracks that compete for my #1. These two are right up there though. Thanks for these interviews with my childhood heroes!

There is nothing like a SID tune in the hands of real composers. The implicit competition between composers on the C64 drove the SID to amazing places. Thanks to all the composers who made the sound track of my life so wonderfully crunchy, synthy, and gloriously evocative. Attack Decay Sustain Release for the win!

Great idea to release part of these unseen interviews here. Easy to watch, and organized by mini-subject and of course of the utmost quality as we would expect from you guys. Keep up... And to Martin, you have no idea how much we loved your music back in the day and still do, with a dose of Nostalgia each time we load up a C64/MiSTer etc... We didn't even know who these SID magician were, so thank you for the memories and for this interview!

That was great... I recall being in Blackpool in 1984 and hearing the Commando theme and it stuck with me for months... same with Marble Madness music... both FM based soundtracks.. back then I loved Martin's work and was shocked when I heard Thing On A Spring and particularly One Man and His Droid.... I think both composers had their "thing" though... I rate them both as equals.. Both influenced me to get into synths and music in general... now I have a grand piano and lots of synths... they were as much an influence on me (maybe even moreso) as Vangelis, Jarre and TD...

As much as I'm a fan of Rob Hubbard, Martin's Rambo music (loader, title, and in-game) is among the very best music ever made for the C64. Thanks for releasing the video.

A great clip. Back then, £200 was perhaps worth a grand in todays money. Rob was an unknown artist so it isn't surprising that he offered to work on the cheap.

Anthems of my childhood, still love their music today and forever. I won a copy of Rambo II from Zzap64, had my name printed on the front cover, but lost the mag years ago, meh!

I also made a whole compilation tape of soundtracks. I titled it 'Ak Ak Apollo', kind of an opposite take on 'Sigue Sigue Sputnik

Galway in execution. Hubbard in composition. Though Wizzbal title shakes that judgement.
