I really like when people talk about PROPER SIDE DECKING! I don't think it's talked about in detail enough! What to side out and what to side in, when and against what deck is pro-level details that wins tournaments that it NEEDS to be talked about A LOT MORE! Also, I really think that if players are using Super Poly, they shouldn't be afraid to consider putting 2-3 of the other targets into the side deck (i.e. against Fire decks you would only want to play Earth Golem @Ignister/Gilti- Gearfried etc. or sometimes even Starving Venom Fusion Dragon is a great choice, Mysterion, Draco-Equiste, etc.)

@@cvorammlied you can make Guardian Chimera going second with it if you dont have a Branded in Red target in the grave if you have stuff on field and in hand instead. Keeps you from banishing materials too early, and can make Albaz fusions while playing around ash too. Card is nice

I’m coming back into Yugioh and I love branded despia as it was my first competitive deck I played. I was considering about playing it again cause of it still being very good and fun. I put down questions I have for you for helping me decide on how to build my deck. I would appreciate if you answers them for me to help me with making my deck. 1. If I don’t feel like playing puppet because I’m not a big fan of it, what could I replace instead? I was thinking of kit or Ad libitum. Kit for being another stater and ad to bring back my mirror jade on the board. 2. I know nadir servant is another way to play around branded fusion getting ash. I don’t know the combo line for it, so I was wondering what extra deck card you would target for Maximus and nadir?

I usually side puppet for ad libitum. Skip kit. When using nadir, send Garura and grab Maximus, you get the draw one from Garura, then you can banish Garura for Maximus summon. Then Maximus can send Titaniklad and Albion for end phase set up (branded spell n trap and then grab Quem from Titaniklad effect) Hope this helps!!!

With that being said, you should play puppet. In a tier 0 format, playing the puppet lock is the way to go. There are only so many ways to outplay snake eyes fire king with pure branded despia combos. We put up a good fight but without super poly and puppet lock, it’s a slaughter.

Not as good going second but do consider nadir servant with a maximus. Its a great backup in case you get interrupted on your main combo and also clogs the deck up less than the patchwork stuff. Going second its just free space to side out though which also has its uses ✌️

You can make a similar deck but you gonna need to up it to 60 with 2x called by, 3x nadir servant, more bystial, more high spirits, 2x retribution, maxx c etc. Its just not very playable at 40~ with 1x fusion, 1x opening and 2 aluber. I like the 3 shrouded dragon idea a lot

Nadir is easily the best main deck choice this format. Maximus is the decks only consistent way to play through nib, which you can summon off dusk after they nib you, and sets up puppet combo on its own. Anyone not playing it is playing a worse version of the deck. Thrust is so good, sometimes. If you get impermed it sucks. Even if they use veiler, unless you can dump fusion thrust isn’t doing anything g1. Obviously it’s fantastic going second as well. Kinda the opposite of nadir. Masq is needed in the main too. It’s a win con against fire when going second. Pretty similar list to what I took to Seattle a few weeks back though !

Masq isn't actually a win con. All the fire deck would do is use Flamberge's effect to target it and put it in the S&T zone. By the time Flamberge comes out and used its effect the fire player will have used no more than 6 total effects. So you burned them for 3,600 life points but it did not change their end board in the slightest way imaginable.

⁠@@312desolationyou clearly have not played against fire with branded. Making masq t1 isn’t as impactful, sure. But that’s not what I said. After their t1 they’re going to be at 6k, after you break their board and deal some more damage they have to play very weird to deal with masq or they do just lose. They usually have to out it by battle but that means masq did it’s job. Flamberge also isn’t a real problem because you just banish it with mj. Usually they out it with garunix during battle. I got 16th at Seattle a few weeks ago and 9th (would’ve been second if I won my last round) at the salem regional. So I know what I’m talking about. Masq wins games against fire.

Not a weak question. You can get the entire Branded core from the structure deck Strike of Albaz. Some despia monsters are in there as well but the rest you’ll have to purchase or trade for individually. It took me a couple months to build the deck in its entirety but it’s worth it. It’s not an expensive build (if you don’t care about rarity) and it’s always a solid contender

It can take up alot of extra deck space, sucks going second, and thrust is generally just better in MOST cases. People play nadir+thrust more in 50 card versions, but otherwise just play thrust

The problem is if they ban Gimmick Puppet, there are other cards that Albion can abuse for summon locking like Ido the Supreme Magical Force, Ra's Disciple, etc. Albion can also be abused in Voiceless Voice decks with Jowgen the Spiritualist as well to also use the summon lock lol. I get what you mean, I really hate the idea of them banning an Albaz lore fusion target, especially if they don't replace it with another good one first lol.

If sanctifire gets banned, it will hurt BUT that’s only one line of play and it’s usually for puppet lock. Besides that, sanctifire is just a big body on the field that can’t be targeted and can’t be used as fusion material. It will still be a heavy hitter in the formats to come
