I haven't done enough research to say it for certain, but it might have something to do with it being raytraced. Basically meaning every single ray of light is being processed by the graphics card and reflected off of surfaces how it would in real life.

the crazy thing about alllll these mods on GTA is that it makes you realize what else can they possibly upgrade or add to the newest GTA that already cant be modded into the game? id like to hear some ideas. because this shit looks immaculate. the graphics the modding of any vehicle the modding of people, shoes like wearing jordans, designer name brand clothes, (obviously they dont have rights to put it in game and sell it so they make knockoff clothes like it) the modding of the cars, engines, exc, the modding of extra jobs to do, like sell dope, or be a acutal policeman on a server, running peoples ID and having them have a real background and felonies exc. the Stock Market is Dope, except they need to implement a REAL market online that really fluctuates during the game so you can actually make money Vs Grind for hours and make 500$... they got Real estate to buy, even better homes on modding. (would be cool to buy like furniture and shit and customize the interior of your house, make you go out and buy it at a store, make you rent a storage truck an bring it home, that would be cool). but shit the Game is mimicking life damn near,. what more CAN ROCKSTAR ADD TO THIS GAME THAT ALREADY CANT BE MODDED..?? the mechanics is decent enough for player movement.

I love these enhanced Realism mods, but nobody ever thinks "maybe a formula going relevant 90mph speeds shouldn't be absolutely HAMMERING its engine as if going 260 on a straightaway." I get that I'm nit picking. But "realism" is the goal here. I'd just love to see a "real car performance mod" to really hammer that home.
