I had this during my entire time playing with my ps1 and never have I removed it from the console. I used to watch the first season of South Park with it. Also, I love going to the cd-rom manager menu because that's where I used to listen to the game's soundtrack and watch the intro and endings.

I never unplugged mine, either. In fact, it's still attached here in 2024.

I bought one from a guy on Craigslist he posted a box of random items I noticed the video card on the bottom offered him $20 there was about 50 - 70 back up games. Great deal. Great job on the video 👍

I used to have the vcd card for the Saturn I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread if the film was encoded right it looks and sounded a lot better than VHS but many films were poorly encoded, the best ones were the fims done by paramount their picture quality was spot on and at the time it was like broadcast qauilty, I still have my mega collection of vcd films I wouldn't part with them for anything, back in the 90s the Phillips CDI tool kit was leaked into the net so I used to use that to create my old home movies, I would transfer my VHS recordings to my pc and encode them with tmpgenc, use CDI tool kit to author them then I could play them in my Saturn and later CDI

This'd be cool because I literally just managed to burn the whole original matrix trilogy onto a single CD.

Just picked up one of these devices and checked out your vid for some info. Really informative and done in a really enjoyable guerrilla style! Loved it lad, would appreciate any support on my own stuff but either way I have subbed and will keep an eye on what you put out! Best of luck brother!

Cheers man! The only problem I've had with it, is that it's memory card menu doesn't play nice with 3rd party memory and sometimes wants "initialise(?)" which means FORMAT... So don't say yes. I lost some saves with this hahaha. I ended up getting some official PS1 memory cards in the end anyway, because they didn't work with the PS2 slim and I needed to copy saves across from an emulator back to my PS1.

I still have one these in 2024 that I bought back in 2000 I think. Though mine was made by E.M.S. and looks slightly different cosmetic wise than the one in the video here.

It’s a shame that VCDs didn’t catch on in the age of VHS and before DVDs

My country had VCDs, back in the late 1990s I think.

I have one of these, but the password option is missing, its literally an on off switch for the VCD function. :(

It's interesting how many revisions seem to exist, they're not documented very well though when it comes to buying which is a bit of a shame.

do you have to have a modchip to use this?
@Kippykip Жыл бұрын
A modchip helps, but I think this one needs to use the old "spring in the cd lid button method" if you don't have one, but that requires you to put in a legal disc first then change it out when it prompts.
