You had the exact same criticisms as me, I think the wave look like a Barbie accessory with the silver splatters on clear pink plastic, and YES! The sheen on the base shows me they sprayed the clear coat either in a cold environment and it didn’t cure properly or it wasn’t mixed before they sprayed it down

Card Affect goes to SS, Display-ability goes to XM, Paint & Sculpt are pretty equal. I think the advantage of XM is it can pair better with other pieces were SS is really meant for that specific line. XM I think has the slight edge for me. Both winners though.

Man Big ups to Richard Luong for the design. Collector in the community and now one of the design artist at sideshow which helps as he relates to both aspect of the spectrum. Yo Gem, just keyed mine together. I can’t believe this thing is sitting in my house, man...makes me laugh thinking back to that first toybiz Gambit figure I had with the garbage bag coat. The first back issue I ever bought was Uncanny 266 for $18.00 back in 1994 lol, think I had to borrow $5 from my Dad to get it. Love all your videos on the old Marvel Master Piece sets, takes me right back to 6th grade man. Keep it brother. EXCELSIOR!

To me, the Sideshow versions of the characters always look better than XM. Their portraits most of the time look really good and their outfits are always true to the design.. XM tends to make the outfit a bit too complicated and different. But that's not definitely a bad thing. It's just that I think Sideshow brings the characters from the comic books to life better, even if they are not always as detailed as XM's.

Yo Jim, i love your channel bro!! I watch you regularly. I personally like the Sideshow sculpt better than XM. For some reason, at least in my opinion, Sideshow portraits are consistently better. Like you, i prefer the comic look sculpts and this definitely looks like a Jim Lee Gambit! Sideshow just needs to vary their poses more. The gambit pose is very similar to the 5th scale Black Panther and the quarter scale John Stewart Green Lantern. Overall this Gambit piece is FIRE and the companion Rogue just makes it that much better!!! Great review Jim!!!

I love this this statue more than the previous one, the colours are so vibrant it's beautiful to look at. When you did a close up of the head sculpt from a certain angel with the toothpick he kinda looks like Clint Eastwood. Then I started thinking maybe his son Scott Eastwood could play him in a movie??

Just got mine in and I love it. XM gets points for the added texture to the chest and I actually prefer the more muted shades and less glossy paint job they used. Plus I’m more of an SS budget than XM

I sold this amazing piece... and yep, you guessed it! I just bought it back. Love this Sideshow Line. I had the idea of selling all of my PF for the Iron Studios 1/10th scale Sentinel pieces but the PF line is just too amazing to sell. Guess I have to keep getting both... rip wallet.
