I met Kenny Gamble in Philadelphia in 2016 at a gala. I felt so honored to meet him! Told him that he wrote some of my favorite songs and that I appreciate it him and Mr. Leon Huff! that whole Philly Sound dominated black music from the late 60's until the mid 80's ( The Delfonics, The Intuders, the Stylistics , Teddy, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Blue Magic, Lou Rawls, The Spinners , Billy Paul, The Jones Girls, The O'Jays etc etc etc) Mr. Gamble doesn't get the credit he deserves for trying to buy up properties & landmarks all over downtown Philly & South Philly & try to counter gentrification & keep them in black hands..its a shame they couldn't save , renovate & restore The old Philly International Records headquarters on South Broad Street & turn it into a historical tourist attraction a la Hitsville USA in Detriot

I greeted him as the Great Elder that he is and it was as if we have known each other from the past.
