that whole Philly Sound dominated black music from the late 60's until the mid 80's ( The Delfonics, The Intuders, the Stylistics , Teddy, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Blue Magic, Lou Rawls, The Spinners , Billy Paul, The Jones Girls, The O'Jays etc etc etc) Mr. Gamble doesn't get the credit he deserves for trying to buy up properties & landmarks all over downtown Philly & South Philly & try to counter gentrification & keep them in black hands..its a shame they couldn't save , renovate & restore The old Philly International Records headquarters on South Broad Street & turn it into a historical tourist attraction a la Hitsville USA in Detriot

I dont think a lot of people (especially their younger fans) REALLY realize how much music these two MUSIC GIANTS have put out. On one hand, many will think of any number of SINGLES or songs, they produced. But their true fame, came by way of the ENTIRE ALBUMS that they produced, for some of the greatest singers and groups, the World has ever seen or heard..like the OJays, Jerry Butler, Dusty Springfield, Nancy Wilson, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Billy Paul, Joe Simon, Mother*Father*Sister*Brother (MFSB), Lou Rawls, Teddy Pendergrass, Patti LaBelle, Jean Carn and The Jacksons, to name but a few.
