At 27:30 you should've intentionally baited the warrior into taking the worker. He wouldn't have pillaged your salt, he'd move off your salt, and he'd walk into immediate range of your city, archer, and scout. You'd lose your worker for one, maybe two turns.

anyone else notice that had he finished chopping the forest ~26:50 and just retook the worker from the barb (archer + city + scout blocking) he would have gotten temple or Artemis?

Those max duration turns are painful. Honestly what do you need a minute and a half to do on turn 50? Are they like running algorithms for every decision that they make?

i think going for artemis that late was greedy. you could have gone straight hanging gardens and then gotten colossus in time

you get a free merchant you can improve your tiles faster turning around bad city states into use-able ones, you get less culture impact so its easier to get all the commerce and rationalist policy's. all tradition gives you is a little bit of growth and an early aqueduct but still makes every city you puppet hurt more then help for a lot longer then liberty. Your also stuck in 1 city much longer with tradition.

@@keiganm1287 With Venice you have to get a mega sized capital to work every specialist slot. Yeah, a free merchant of Venice is nice but the growth, happiness and gold are way more important. Also city-states have no problem improving their tiles. By the time you buy a CS you won't need a worker for that city anyway.

@@goclbert Well 3 years later metas change but I still say it's worse. You don't take advantage of merchants early and steal cs anyone can just out hammer you to death. 1 city even a really big city is still an easy Target.

In my experience I enjoyed a Venice game single player with A I because its bonuses can be used in single player.

King Taylor Venice is my favorite civ for single player. Poland is my favorite civ for multiplayer. Celts is my favorite civ for when I want to show everyone how awesome I am.

Chopping might be more efficient then the early mine or camp just because it saves you a turn on hanging gardens which gets you to your hammers JMO

Where do you find the people to play these games? Are they your friends or is there some site where i can find people for games? I want to try multiplayer Civ but it is so hard to find people to play the full game. Btw. Great videos, keep them comming! Hope to see a culture or science victory in MP some day!

Filthy why do you production focus your cities when you always assign them yourself? does that give you extra production?

when a city grows the way it processes food first can mean you grab an extra couple of hammers

wong nigel I know this is five years late, but it means the turns that cities grow they instantly get hammers which can get you something a turn sooner.
