Sure wish the Islanders stuck with Barry Trotts longer, I believe they would have a lot better chance to win a Cup again with him as coach.

I'm convinced it's what Trotz wanted. My guess is Lou saw the writing on the wall and did him a favor. After a couple of interviews where he was surely offered a job, Trotz said he was taking the year off to take care of family things he had been putting off for too long, then took a GM position.
