This is my demo showing various advanced procedural sound design techniques. Cubase, Soundforge were used to mix and edit the sound effects. Fmod Studio and the Unreal Engine 4 were used to implement them.

That is ultra cool. I bet that with a portfolio like this you've got a decent job in the industry in a pocket.

I'm no expert, still a student of the craft. Even now this is one of the best examples I've seen in demonstrating sound design/integration inside a game engine.

I feel like I have to thank you for that engine sound idea. Damn, I'm a guitarist for almost 10 years and I would've never thought of that!

This is so well done and informative that you could use it as a sound design overview tutorial. Sounds great, really well presented. :)

thanks for sharing this, as someone who spends an ungodly amount of time in sound design it's really neat to see how to apply things in context

Hey, great approach, and great job, on the demo reel!... did you purchase the environments from Polypixel and the elements from Epic, or are there demo versions? Cheers!

Nicely done! The sound design and implementation are both cool! I am trying to do a similar sound design demo. But I am having problems setting up an FPS game like this in Unreal. Could you please give me a short description of how you put this demo game together? That would be extremely helpful! Thank you very much!

Really well done demo and great sound design! I have a question, how were you able to take the elements from the other games and apply them to the Lake Side Cabin map in the Unreal Engine? Specifically the Shooter Game. I've been having trouble figuring that out completely.

This is awesome Tristan, love using the electric guitar for the engine source material! Also with the recording of footsteps, was that the shotgun attachment on the zoom you used? How do you find using that? I've heard that the lack of anti-shock can be a bit of a problem. I have a zoom H5 though and I'd love an easy way like that to record footsteps etc.

You could have a friend assistant for that, or carry a stand and external shotgun nest for that

This is amazing work, very inspiring :) . I wonder if for a future project it would be possible to change the state of the sounds entering the cabin depending on whether the door is open/closed. It seemed that when you went into the cabin the sound changed as though the door closed but the door was open. I'm currently studying an MSc in Sound and Music for Interactive Games and this is way above my level currently as I've just started but I definitely aim to achieve this.

Where are you studying/did you study that degree? I'm interested in music for interactive media but I can't find any course specifically for that subject
@RyanMannixmusicisparadise Жыл бұрын
@@lorerecru I completed my MSc in Sound and Music for Interactive Games at Leeds Beckett University. I hope you find the course you are looking for :)
@lorerecru Жыл бұрын
@@RyanMannixmusicisparadise Wow, I see. And how was it? Was it worth it? Would you recommend to study there? Was it difficult to apply? Sorry for so many questions 😅
@RyanMannixmusicisparadise Жыл бұрын
@@lorerecru Hey, sorry for the late reply. Yes it was 100% worth it for me and others I know on the course, however, it's really down to you and what you're looking for.
@RyanMannixmusicisparadise Жыл бұрын
@@lorerecru P.s. to apply I had to put forward a demo of some of my work and I believe then entry requirements were 2/1 or above in a degree in a sound or music related field. I would check their website for the current entry requirements though as it's a few years ago since I started there now.
