The thing people need to understand about Screamer is that the PC games industry and the console games industry used to be two entirely different things that rarely communicated. They were often sold in entirely different stores, had entirely different magazines and had entirely different heroes and star developers. But occasionally a game would appear on one platform that made the other jealous. For pc gamers, that usually happened when some stellar Japanese game came out in the arcade or on platform and it wasn’t available on PC. In the early 90s, that was Ridge Racer. 3d gaming was just taking off and the PC gamers were jealous of the fancy new 3d graphics in arcades and in home with the likes of PlayStation and Saturn. Enter Screamer, which was the first 3d arcade racing game in the style of a 32 bit console game that was sold for PC. It allowed gamers to finally have something that felt competitive with the new consoles that were ushering in a new page in gaming. So that’s why the reviews sound so hyperbolic in terms of what they are saying about the game. Screamer was like Marathon on Mac or Crash Bandicoot after Mario 64. It felt like striking back.

@ They definitely haven’t played nd games before, this is simply an introduction/ first glimpse of a new thing (maybe that’s why people didn’t grab on right away) still it has a lot of substance and a ridiculous amount of detail to gush about. I think people would be surprised and astonished when they show the gameplay demo, the potential for a sci-fi game with melee focus by ND is through the roof! They will deliver big time.

I used to get so, so, so excited for naughty dog games, it was a special moment. Now, it just feels dead and overcome with political agendas. My one comment about Intergalactic is (and this is coming from someone who likes ND and doesn’t mind TLOU) is that I think they actually have a bigger hill to climb to get people on board with this new game, and I hope they take that to heart with putting their all in this. Earlier in the show when they showed Part 2’s remaster for PC it made me groan and laugh like “Man I swear if this is their big announcement 😂” because I’ve come to expect that from them. I wanna see them make something that makes it worth it for all those ridiculous Remasters and seemingly nothing else on the horizon.

I don't think remakes, remasters or DLC's should even be eligible for awards. No original artistic vision in remakes, really. Just fanservice. Rebirth wasn't a bad game, solid 7/10 on PS5 and 8/10 on PS5 Pro. All in all, these awards don't really matter. Enjoy the games you want to enjoy, no reason to get worked up if your favourite doesn't get a silly award. It doesn't take anything away from it.

Im 40hrs into Rebirth (first play-through) and I am very annoyed with the amount of mini games forced into it, especially Queens Blood. It has not had the impact on me that Remake had. I played Remake 3 times, as of now, ill think about playing through Rebirth again.

They are making smaller experimental game in between their big titles. Wasn't this what you want from all publishers? Also this is not a live service game. I don't really care about the asset reuse or any of that stuff. I'm a Yakuza fan and that franchise is probably still using some animations from the PS2 era. I just want it to be decent as a single-player experience. If it turns out to be a "good as long as you have friends to play with" type game, I'm out unfortunately.
