A few of them are like Mega Man and Bass (especially when playing as Mega Man), Mega Man 9, the Zero series, Mega Man X3 and X6 (X6 is borderline bullshit on the stage layout and the bosses). Need I go on? This series is mostly aimed at players that are skilled. And yeah, I beated several of them like this game.

The Zero Series takes exactly 100 years after X6 Where in Zero's Ending in X6 He decided to Seal himself so that he wouldn't become a threat in the near future. Originally X5 Was supposed to be the original ending to this series but capcom and inti creates had other plans Inti creates was kinda the ones who told capcom to avoid making X in the Villain in this series. Basically Canonically X6 is the last game to the zero Series plot wise. But the American port was so bad mistranslated it made the plot confusing. I hope I cleared it up for you. :)
