I remember watching my dad play this in the early 2000s when i was 3 or 4 years old. Im 16 now. I kept thinking of this memory and when i finally search it up its here. Brings back memories for me for sure. Love the old games. I even remember playing a Disney princess game on my gameboy when i was younger as well. It was probably a couple years after this.
@jaxxh6529 Жыл бұрын
in the past, i have the super nintendo version borrowed from a friend, then my girlfriend has all game boy games (including color and advance) and boom game boy player and done! and the game boy advance version sounds more epic. with that game boy base at the same time the tracks play. its great. final fantasy iv, v, and vi advance has also that form of tracks. magical quest 1 has pure 8 bit nes style randition of the tracks. part 2 and 3 has again the base.

Wow! I never actually realised Disney re-released this game for the GBA! This game was always one of my favourite SNES games. I wonder why Disney decided to release this one? Surely Aladdin wasn't really relevant at this point!
@IvanFranco1202 жыл бұрын
Because, fans would agree taking an famous SNES onto an GBA hardware...😅
@Trollnix22 жыл бұрын
I mean its still relevant today and have gotten a live action remake. Why is it not relevant? At the time of rerelease?
@lapis5912 жыл бұрын
I wasn't aware of the Game Boy Advance re-release either! You have to understand that Disney's big properties, like The Lion King, Pirates, Aladdin, etc., will always be relevant. They are hugely popular among all audiences. Disney is going to consistently release and re-release products associated with these franchises. It's the exact same reason why Disney will re-release a cartoon like The Little Mermaid or Cinderella on video, DVD, Blu-ray, Diamond Edition Blu-ray, etc. over and over again every couple of years. Aladdin was very popular at release (remember, two direct-to-video sequels followed and a children's cartoon in the following years). The Virgin and Capcom video games were also very popular. Even now we see the re-release of several 8-bit and 16-bit Disney video games on current platforms.

It's surprising that the official themes were not included especially since this is an officially licensed and title published by Disney. I would assume this to be royalty/union related requiring compensation to the songwriters.

This version is what I have for Game Boy Advance. But the worst part is, both songs such as “Friend like me", and “A Whole New World" have been replaced. But at least this version has each an extra level on 6 stages, so I should say that it is the extended adventure of Aladdin.

@Xanatos218 жыл бұрын
The alternate soundtrack that they used for levels like the Genie's Lamp and the Magic Carpet Ride just doesn't sound that good. Why did they change it? It was already great the way it was. As the saying goes: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
@granvillimus8 жыл бұрын
I'm going to guess it was because of some sort of licensing issue. Music rights can be messy. These particular levels on SNES were the only ones that use tracks from the original film. They left the other level tunes alone, and they are all original to the game. Some sort of legal dispute is all i can imagine (maybe their rights to use the music ran out by the time the GBA version was made). Sucks though...

I played the NES version but I also remember an older version I saw in 1999 my dad played it on windows desktop. In that version there's hot coal on the ground and Aladdin burns his feet on it if not careful. Anyone know the name of that version?
@ShdwHg11 жыл бұрын
Yeah, no. The Genesis version is brilliant. The action's tight, the graphics are fluid and quite colorful for the limited palette, the music's pretty decent... some people say the platforming's glitchy or unresponsive, but I've never really encountered those problems. Only problem I *do* have with it is that The Escape is bullshit hard. Not that the SNES version is bad - it's also a solid game, and has the better Jafar fight - but either way, the Genesis version is still a great game.
