Game Boy Advance SP headphone jack and type-c wiring.

So I was wiring exactly as described in the video, however, I noticed that in headphones that contain a microphone, the blue wire at 4:30 makes contact with the microphone channel. This causes audio to remain on the GBA SP and not switch over to headphone mode. For those headphones, its probably best to swap both the blue and white wire locations. Worked for mine and from the diagrams I was was looking at it should work for all other headphones, but I haven't tested non-microphone headphones. Hopefully this is helpful to those banging their heads against a wall like I did for the past week or so.

What do you mean by swapping blue (mic) and white (ground) wire? I AM ALSO FACING similar problems and doubts... please help if you've already solved this.

A lot of thought went into this and it shows. For the most part mine turned out really well. Although the screws are questionable and they strip easily.

I had the same exact thoughts loved it except the battery cover didn’t line up well and mine was stripped sadly screw would just go right in couldn’t even screw…. So I probably gonna fill with epoxy or something and then screw in.

If you have an issue with the battery cover screw, please reach out to us so I can help you get a replacement. We think the anodize shop wasn't happy with the finish on some parts, so they chemically stripped the parts and anodized multiple times. This makes the already tiny threads even smaller. I'll be double checking this on parts and increasing the screw size when I re-order.

Awesome. Thanks for this, now I can add the headphone jack. Luckily I figured out the usb c and the bracket. Are you able to make a video on what all the brackets that came with it do? I know 1 is for the usb c and the other for the headphone jack. Not sure about the others.

There are 4 small aluminum parts. 2 block the the 3.5mm, and type C port holes if you are not using them. The other two are similar in shape and are used to hold the type-C or 3.5mm parts in place if you solder these in. I'll make a video when I have a chance.

Have you considered making custom made ribbon cables (maybe with a breakaway connecter too if possible) for both of the audio jacks and usb-c ports for a clean install?

Do you need 28 gauge wire for the power, or would 30 be able to work for that?

He said you need to buy 28 guage wire for the type c charger. And 30 guage wire for the audio jack. He talks about at the very beginning
