Great review! I've put almost 2K miles on mine in the last 4 months. I've been riding dirt bikes all my life and so far the Talaria takes the cake. After doing all the mods aside from controller & battery, I think a 16" rear wheel is a required upgrade. I went with 16/19" Warp 9 wheels and I couldn't be happier (red rims & hubs, black spokes). I get about 35 miles on a charge with stock gearing and I am happy with the power from the stock controller. Enjoy!

Great video. If you bought yours from luna, they provide a couple foam peices for your battery to stop the rattle. Look in your box. One goes on top of the battery and then other right where the latch goes in. Others have other solutions as you can find on youtube. keep up the great content!

2:58 the gearbox is not noisier, it‘s the opposite. The Talaria runs very quiet.

Personally I will stick with the lighter-weight Surron, I grabbed the 2023 in purple.... As for the belt you definitely have to make sure the pullies are perfectly parallel to prevent the side from being severely worn. I spay mine with SC1 and that really seems to help treat the belt as I have no belt conditioner.... It's also equally important to not run the belt too tight or too loose 😎👌

A gates belt would help with that. They are more narrow because the surron and xxx motors are slightly crooked on purpose so it keeps the belt from rubbing on the sides. The stock belts are too wide causing them to shred. Also they are more durable

i was the 1st of all my friends who has an emoto and I own a sur ron, all my friends have talaria mx4's my battery (32ah) life is always equal on our ride outs, goes to show how much a lighter bike handles the battery, and its more nimble. I've used both bikes, the lighter bike feels way easier to use. sticking to the sur ron lb x FYI the new rons come in a 34/38ah

No doubt stock vs stock the MX4 beats the SurRon in almost every category, but even though it has upgrades just like a SurRon, the SurRon's frame & design allows for upgrades to be installed easier. My bike is fully modded but I've ridden both Rons and MX4's and until you get into the battery/controller/motor upgrades, the Talaria is the best bang for your buck for sure.

I first heard, that gearbox in Talaria is noisier than drive belt on Surron - what i have heard (i've listened these both bikes), Surron is significant noisier :)

Under load, I do not agree. I've ridden side by side and swapped back and forth. The gear noise is quite audible. Cruising without load, yeah maybe it's quieter than the belt. My gearbox is still breaking in though

Regulations are already in place. In most states it is a motorcycle. In missouri it's a scooter.

@@HolmesHobbies oh, yeah, for sure in Virginia where I’m at. They are also regulated. The problem is people are using them to try to get around the law and a lot of people that are making the laws. Don’t know any better. They are looking to heavily restrict them in the town I live in because unfortunately, on one of our local bike pads, somebody buzzed one of the local politicians, wife and child on one of these doing around 35 miles an hour on a trail design for no more than 15 mph. So now they are looking to heavily regulate all electric bikes in the area. We’re fighting against it but we hope it doesn’t come to that. I think the big take away is anyone that’s going to ride one of these extreme electric motorcycles/bicycles just needs to understand. A little courtesy goes a long way.

@traviseller3770 yeah, don't be an idiot riding these on bicycle paths. It's already illegal anyways unless dirtbikes are allowed. They tried doing the same "extra regulations " in my town too and I had to go to the meeting and point out that laws already exist that cover it. Was a dude riding a 45mph scooter on bike paths that riled a lot of people up.
