A big favourite game with Leningrad Dutch addicts (of which there are a surprising amount!) A wonderful attack! I particularly like AlphaZero's response to the Stockfish's h4 (to prevent ...Ng5). It played.... well, take a look at the video, you won't regret it!

Amazing moves in this game Ng5 piece sac Queen sac with pawns on e3, f2, followed with a Rook to f6 to h6 7:15 Bishop to h3. Too good.

Just stunning, even Stockfish’s defensive capabilities. Looking at alpha zero one feels it’s all forced and, for all the time it takes, unstoppable.

Totally agree! It has a strange inevitability to it: you can see what's coming, but there's nothing to be done! And indeed, Stockfish's great defending helps make these games such a great spectacle. There's a wonderful clash of styles when a great attacker meets a great defender! Best Wishes, Matthew

I am an "old" fan of yours (long before KZbin, books on Slav and yadda...) - quite strange that you don't have, say, couple hundred thousand subs more!? Anyways this really inspires my new Dutch repertoire. PS so far, I dared playing it only in blitz/rapid...so after those ugly defeats I can say "Yeah but, you see, it was just for fun" :)

Hi James, thanks! 😀 Glad the games are inspiring your repertory. I think we 're a little bit niche for hundreds of thousands of subs! 😀 But I really do believe that these engine games are an undiscovered treasure with lots of instructive value, so glad we have 4000 people who feel the same way! 😀 Best Wishes, Matthew
