I went to Las Vegas once and couldn't wait to leave. The negative energy there was so intense and within the 24 hours that I was there, somebody already brandished their knife while I was walking by him. It was around the 4th of July so places were raising their prices to take advantage of the tourists. The traffic and drivers were so bad that it felt like I was going to die out there that way as well. All of that flashiness just seemed awfully empty too. I'm a more low key small town sort of guy so maybe part of it is just me but that was a nightmare experience in my book.

Glad to see you’ve hit up my town. I go to retro city games a lot of the time. Doug the owner is an awesome guy and I always feel he’s selling the games just slightly lower than most places. We play games has always been crappy. They have a really good selection of games at both locations and the second location you went to I’ve gotten treated well in the past but I’ve always not liked the owner.
@sndwav20494 жыл бұрын
Welcome to Las Vegas, Reggie! Was really cool to see you visiting all the places I go. Yeah, WiiPlayGames on the east side is an "interesting" place. I was once offered a slice of pizza from the clerk's Dominos box because I argued the price of a DS Lite console was to high. They wanted $65, a year or two ago, for a bare crimson and black unit (my kid had just broken the hinge on mine). I told them it was too high and I would give them $49. He said $65 is the price and I'll throw in a slice of pizza (that he was eating right in front of everyone). I walked out.
@odinsplaygrounds4 жыл бұрын
That really sucks about them raising the price in front of you. If you knew it was good value, you should just have bought it and not asked them about it. It’s shitty on their end, just saying it’s best to not even give them the hint it’s worth more though.

I used to live in Las Vegas and I haven't heard of any of those stores except Fry's. I go to thrift stores for games. I was there in January and found NES games at Savers for 2.99. My bad employee story would be at Funcoland. I was looking to buy Wardener for the Sega Genesis priced at 0.50 cents ( If I had a penny I would go to funcoland to see if I could buy a game). As the employee brought over the game he looked at it and said to me ' this game looks pretty cool, I'm going to keep this for myself' then walked away.

4:10 quick fact of the day: they make majority of fighting game characters with big feet and hands so they can be seen more during gameplay for visual reaction type of thing... that's an intent design desition since early CPS2 (capcom fighting games) which industry took as template for majority of fighting games we have today.

Stores are not supposed to raise the price on games in front of you. If they made a mistake with their labeling, they are supposed to honor what was listed. The fact that they didn’t is unethical. In certain cases you could report this to the Better Business Bureau. At the very least leave a bad review on Google. Maybe the owner will get in touch if the employee did not act on store policy.

I had an issue similar to your story when I went to Gamestop at Mesa Riverview back in May 2019. I went to go buy WWE 2K16 for the XBOX One because it had an 8.99 price tag on it, and when I brought it to the counter, the cashier raised the price to $16.99. I was dumbfounded at why they raised the price for a game that released 4 years prior. I still bought it and I don't regret that, but I never went to that Gamestop again.

The story about the clerk who had to check with their boss reminds me of my last job as a newspaper reporter. The way it was setup was the main editor was barely in the office and delegated everything to the assistant editor so anytime a decision needed to be made they'd have to wait to hear back from the main editor. Just pure stupidity. Also regarding the price change, that reminds me of when I go to expos and some booths don't have the prices down for games. If I ask for a price, one of the people would pull out an ipad and go on Ebay to get a price for the game.
