Game Live On Facebook with OBS Studio - Fun and Easy Tutorial

Scott explains how to setup a Facebook gaming page. This tutorial begins by describing the three methods you can setup a gaming video with OBS Studio. The first method is called "Game Capture." This source type works if a full-screen view is selected. The problem with this source is that some games don't work well with it.

This issue will force you to choose the next method called "Window Capture" This method will usually work for most games, but you'll have to tell the game to use a windowed view. Facebook live only allows for 1280x720px, so do your best to select this resolution in your game. If this windowed screen size does not show up as a selection in your game, choose the size that gets closes to 1280x720. If, for some reason, "Window Capture" fails, your last option is to use "Display Capture." This option will work because the source shows what appears on your screen. The downside to this selection is that if any other program pops up on the screen, it will show on the live stream. Be sure to turn off all other programs, so this does not happen.
The next part of the video explains OBS Studio settings for resolution and some lag settings. Then Scott moves on to settings for Facebook. The final step is to connect OBS Studio to Facebook, and boom, you are in business.

Hey there, this video is absolute magic. I have watched a very good few but always to much talking and some divert from main talk but you are straight to the point and I agree with the comment from Darrin Long - straight to the point. i have done this setup before but the settings you have selected, 1280x720 is absolutely perfect for my setup also. Now all I got to do is sort out my overlay section which i have found the perfect one for my logo that i designed. I have made my own FB gaming page and want to tweak that to but not sure if you have any tutorial videos on overlay set ups with obs and any tutorials on fb gaming page setups and addition tips

I'm trying to do a fb gaming livestream with Nintendo switch. I have both my camera and switch going into my computer with elgato capture cards. I'd love to see a video like this with the best settings for a similar setup. I can get it going but it seems off. Especially the sound.
