Fumito Ueda may have only two published games but each one has had such an impact that his influence is felt keenly across the industry, where he is widely regarded as an auteur.traa

i really appreciate this guy existence not because his games alone but the souls too. this quote taken from miyazaki's wiki page: "Miyazaki went to work doing account managing for the US based Oracle Corporation.[1][3] Upon a friend's recommendation, Miyazaki began playing the 2001 video game Ico, causing him to consider a career change to a game designer"

Coincidentally Ueda started as an animator. On Ico, his first time as director, he was lead animator, lead designer, and famously painted the game's box cover.

Ico is the reason for me getting into the souls games. There's definitely a strong connection between the games.

Really didn’t play this games as a kid so not gonna front like I did I played SOTC tiny tiny amounts but never ever Ico and digging deeper into these games you really can see he was trying to make playable art Also why the fuck couldn’t someone today create a title for the ps2 and release it or is that just a dunce question cause Sony would never allow it, I know it’s counterproductive but I would love to see major creators make ps2 titles and somehow release them but I know I’m just reaching now

Yet they are some of the best games out there. You can't make something great in just a few months. Making a game is a long process =)

For that reason maybe they produced 3 of my favorite games of all time. This is far beyond art.

Yup, it just goes to show how much love, dedication, and attention to detail Fumito and his team put into their games. I think these masterpieces were definitely worth the wait!
