Thanks for this video, this really helped me out a lot. I was having a hard time being surprised in my games....looks like random tables is what I need. I now see that I have far more options from other games and rules systems than I originally realized. Cheers!

I know, this is a year old video but thanks for all the great suggestions and showcases. I love that you don't take too much time rambling on about anything. Very concise. ESPECIALLY love the call out on that Mythic GM artwork. I love the system but that artwork... I hate it with a passion! :D

Do you ever play adventure modules solo? I'm playing basic fantasy rpg and would love to play the Morgan's fort campaign but I don't know how I would go about a solo play.

That's not something I've figured out how to do yet. Geek Gamers tried it with In Search of the Unknown, a famously bare bones kind of module where the monsters and treasure are down to DM's choice. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZ_FhnaYbaijorM

Hey - Don't know if this is helpful but I played through the first 2 dungeons of Morgansfort solo. It was pretty simple but fortunately, Basic Fantasy doesn't require a lot of complex NPC interactions. Anyhow, I just used the module (which I hadn't read before hand) and the Mythic GM emulator. I'd highly suggest this group if you haven't found them. Loads of great resources and a very cool community of solo RPG enthusiasts. Remember - there is no wrong way to play RPG's solo! @@gmrandolfo Artichoke Dip's group is great 😀 Basic Fantasy has Morale and Monster Reactions which are a really great help. I'm really enjoying Basic Fantasy at the moment.
