I've never played a game of skate where you have to hit the obstacle from same direction even if it's your switch side. It's one of the reasons switch-ups are also a debated topic, as the tricks may all be regular for the person on offense, but the person on defense might have to do grinds and spins switch in order to match the movements exactly. That doesn't mean it's wrong to play this way tho, there's many ways you can play SKATE. Just make sure to discuss and agree upon the rules you're going to play by before the game starts, like they did here. Especially if there's gonna be a surprise whipped cream pie to the loser's face lmao!

That was a fun video! Honest question cuz I'm just getting interested in roller skates, I know i skateboards if a game is between a regular and a goofy skater they would skate the box in different directions so that a trick would be normal stance or switch for both skaters instead of having to skate switch while the other gets to use their more comfortable stance. Is there some reason y'all didn't do it that way?

Most of the names of the tricks are wrong and the rotations, you guys are not blading. You should investigate more the name of the tricks. Because already exist name for quad tricks. You just don't want to use it. And if you guys want to use the rollerblader names at least do it right. Top side on quads are a different trick. You guys are only promoting to this sport live by the shadow of rollerblading wend this sport was the pioneer to rollerblading.

Oh so you got a different name for acid grinds, citric acid, fishbrain, miz, unity, etc ? No? That’s what I thought. Roller skating is evolving. Beyond the terms 5050, backside, frontside, axel grind, and “box grind” which isn’t specific enough to the foot placement and direction of the grind btw, there weren’t names for most of the tricks we are doing now. Yea I agree we should start calling top sides something different, but I’m over the random few people that get massively angry over the way we choose to communicate our basic grinds. And I got a feeling you don’t any of these tricks yourself so until there’s some sort of committee or round table of qualified skaters that actually do all these tricks to reevaluate and decide on names for the community, put your energy towards something more useful like global warming.

Hi! Good question, so it’s a little trickier for roller skating because of the switch ups. for example, I do a soul grind the opposite direction that I do a kind grind whereas Megan does both of those grinds in the same direction. So if she were to do a switch up of those 2 tricks, no matter which direction is more comfortable for me to grind, one of those grinds is going to feel unnatural to me. So in this game, we just decided to skate in whichever direction was most comfortable for us but some tricks would still end up being switch or unnatural. Oh and also, it’s kinda hard to explain but some of the rotations are easier for me if I do the trick switch so you might have noticed me doing that as well lol :)

You got the feeling that I don't do the tricks on quads but you totally wrong, I can even name then on rollerskating terms.. I still thing was a dope video, you guys should do more of it. Peace out

I hung up my skates about 20 years ago. Definitely want to get back into again. 33 isn’t even old….. but I’m wondering, why do everyone’s skates have wheels like yours? Mine were 4 in a line. Not 2 side by side. Also, can’t find any k2s with abec 7s anywhere 😕

I think what you used to roll on were Inline skates, not quad skates!
